140,000 Supporters!

The good Doctor Aylett was quoted in The Age today saying that we have 140,000 supporters. If that is the case then that leaves 119,000 who are potential members. You'd think that we'd be able to convert a mere 10% of that total (11,900) to members. Add that to the 20,000 odd who sign up each year and we'd have close to 32,000 members, we'd be a powerhouse! All good in theory of course!

it's easy to pull out numbers like 10%, but it's better not to think of it as 10%

You think "surely 10% of members is easy" but the reality is that it's 11000 people, which is half our membership again. So really, you're trying to improve our membership by 50%.
