Backfire 15,396 days since Hawthorn won a premiership against a MCG ‘home’ team. Yep, almost 43 years.

When oh when will these stinkys from Dingly actually beat a home team based in Melbourne for a legitimate flag? 43 years is a long haul not to and pure proof that they have had an easy run to “success” which now shows them up as pretenders.

By this reasoning Hawthorn have only achieved four non* premierships with one of those being by a measly goal over St Kilda and another being a flat track bullying of Footscray. Both opponents also giving up home ground advantage.

2 flagthorn.

Wow. Just. Wow.

Almost all of Hawthorn's premierships are invalid. Terrible club.
There is only one legitimate flag (maybe 2) that has been won against another Melbourne based club who had home ground advantage. 🤣
Add to that their 58 year premiership drought plus 11 spoons & suddenly the clubs’ history looks very smelly.

Pee-eeewww.

you insecure Really Far West Horshams make me laugh

Funny thing about this thread is that in 1988 Hawthorn had 0 home games at the MCG and Melbourne had 9 yet Melbourne didn't have a home ground advantage

So the only legit premierships are
- Against teams that finished higher on the ladder
- Against teams that play most of their home games at the MCG

So in reality until 20 or so years ago only premierships won againt Richmond and Melbourne count plus they had to finish higher on the ladder.

Buddha gunning for 2021 FOTY - gotta keep it in WA!!
Unsure of your reasoning here. Hawthorn have not faced a Melbourne based club with home ground advantage in a GF since the 70’s.

I already did the research for you in the OP.

Here it is for the laymans on bay13.

1983: Essendon had not played in a GF since 1968 & finished 4th.
Hawthorn on the other hand finished 2nd and being so had home ground advantage at the MCG.

1984/85 never happened.

1986: Hawthorn in their 4th straight GF finished as minor premiers whilst Carlton finished 3rd. Hawthorn home ground advantage once again considering the make up of how the finals went back then.

1987 didn’t really happen either.

1988: hawthorns 6th successive GF after again finishing first whilst Melbourne finished 5th.
Yet another tale of home ground advantage to the Hawks.

1989: Hawthorn again grab home ground advantage by finishing top plus get a double advantage by playing away team Geelong.

1991: Hawks play the interstate Eagles in Victoria. Home ground advantage to Hawthorn. They even owned Waverly ffs.

2008: once again against a team not based in Melbourne.

2013, 2014 & 2015 against all interstate sides with no home ground advantage.

2012 they don’t want to speak about. 🤫🤫🤫

So there you have it.

Hawthorn have not won a premiership against a non Melbourne based team without home ground advantage since LOL NORF in 1978.

Dayuuumm. :$

I think what you are trying very badly to say is that every team that the Hawks beat in Grand Finals were shit, no matter what state they were from nor who had the "home ground advantage".

1988 Melbourne 9 home games at the MCG. Hawthorn 0.

Home ground advantage?
The semantics are there. If you are trying to say Melbourne were better prepped or more experienced on the G in a GF against that hawthorn team then you are selling those Hawks out.

Lets not ignore that hawthorn were the home team that day.

Yeah pretty much. Plus Hawthorn always had the advantage to top it off.

Have not beat a legitimate Melbourne based team with home ground advantage since ‘78.

The facts are there.

Ouch. 4 decades of eating and celebrating plastic...

On top of that with Clarkson doing some “interesting” trades on his way out you would have to say the little guy is trying to troll from within. 🤣🤣🤣
