Considering this is a good draft pool…would he have been taken say low 20’s in a normal draft pool?

Hard to say, but probably.

Both boys have long been staples of the South Australian pathway. They featured in the state’s Under 16 and 18 representative sides, with Ben named vice-captain of the latter this year. He also earned AFL Academy selection after being named best afield in the 2023 National Futures game on AFL Grand Final day.

Camporeale’s individual accolades have not stopped there. He was a consistent figure during South Australia’s National Championships campaign this year, averaging 26.8 disposals and 4.5 clearances to earn state MVP and All-Australian honours. He even took out the McCallum-Tomkins Medal in a four-way tie off just six SANFL Under 18 games.

His prolific nature could be observed across each level, even in his one and only Reserves outing alongside Lucas. Ben stuffed the stats sheet with 22 disposals, eight tackles and six clearances on that day, as Glenelg picked up a thrilling two-point win over Sturt. That was his final appearance for the Bays in 2024, due to a hamstring strain.

That's the kind of CV that gets you drafted in the teens/ twenties most years.

Fixes his kicking and he'll be a top 10 player in this draft. Such a smart, natural footballer and a great runner.

Not shocked he slid like he did but extremely keen to see how the deliberately early finish to the year will help Ben and Lucas get prepared for next season. If he can add half a yard of acceleration and gets his kicking up to scratch he's going to be a serious weapon around the ball.

Extremely strong through his hips when getting tackled.

Just look at his highlights. Hands in close are ridiculous. Probably even better then Jagga. Jagga obviously all round more skillful. Lots to work with.
Reckon the twins will have a bit of mongrel in them as well....don't reckon either of them will put up with any crap.

And this is why I’m thinking we got a steal with what we gave up for him.
I don’t think his brother is any slouch either.
I wish them both well as I loved watching their dad play.

Tough midfield to crack, especially now Smith is at the club (and you'd think he would be next cab off the rank).

Acres is 30 next year, so a spot is there on the wing in a few years. There is also half back (Saad is 31 next year and Docherty turns 32).

It’s nice to see we have possible replacements for those boys when their careers finish…and depth. I think of Wilson as Saads replacement.

I think he's going to be a good player. He hits bodies hard, is a great build for a midfielder and has a little extra pace. Clean hands and a footy brain will take him a fair way as well. Could play a few games next season. He's physically advanced, he tackles really hard and he has a good outside game. Very much the modern day midfielder.

Watched again this morning the Campo household footage for both boys, when they were selected.

The absolute pure joy was quite emotional really (no, you grow up)

Anyway, special to watch.
Think both are going to go very well for us.

It is a very different brotherly dynamic to he McKay brothers.

Well... 2 years ago, I would have said that Lucas would have been going in the 20s while Ben was a later pick. Last year and this year, Ben exploded and I thought we'd have to pay in the late teens, early 20s for him.

And once again, we run away from Marvel wearing balaclava's cackling like maniacs.

Welcome to the club officially Ben.
