I don't know enough about other teams patterns but for the Tigers we definitely lose from this.

Over the last 3 years we've built a game pattern that is weather the storm, absorb the punches and continually pressure and force turnovers until it breaks the opposition and eventually we run over the top of them, often turning a tight game into a 3-5 goal win within a 20-25 minute burst. We are a fit team that runs hard.

The key words there are break and eventually. That's harder to do in shortened games.

Secondly, our injury/player fitness management is superb. We have a history of keeping our best team on the park most weeks. With fewer games and shorter quarters, teams are less likely to have injuries and so player management might not be such a noticeable strength of the club.
