Was a massive mistake bringing him back into the 23. Had been putrid in the ones then got dropped was still putrid in the Magoo's. Brought back after one week instead of on the back of form. He played 40% game time (48mins approx) had 3 touches at 33.3% DE which translates to he effectively had 1 handball and 2 clangers.

Obviously the playing list is low but even if we had only 24 fit players to choose from and it was out of him and Colina I'd almost pick Colina. Put him back with the emphasis on getting the pill, taking first option, working on decision making and disposal efficiency and should be able to thrive at the lower grade. Might even start kicking bags. When it rains players kicking skills drop dramatically regardless so this horse sh1t his pressure is so elite the opponent's are turning it over is a fu@ken furphy they're 50/50 of fluffing the kick regardless.

Didn't even bother looking at who played well in the reserves. Whoever's a short arse and can play forward can more than duplicate MRJ's miniscule output. So Dow, Banks, Ross whoever should be given an Opportunity instead.

If Sydney Stack had've been born with the name Maurice Rioli jr he'd be playing game number 80ish, would've probably never been dropped despite form lapses cos he had the talent to play good footy when all's said and done. What message is the club sending to MRJ atm? When you play bloody ordinarily we'll drop you to find form in the reserves. When you fail to fire in the reserves after only one week we'll bring you back in. When you only get 1 effective disposal in 50 mins playing time you'll retain your spot..... WTF? Expectations are basically chase the other blokes who know how to find the pill, tackle them or not just look fast running them down. Burn your teammates at first option, get run down yourself. Turnover the other way... Stuff up simple disposal... worst thing is he's a dead certainty to play in the Aboriginal game against Bombers in a few weeks. Would've been so much better lesson to let him play a month of reserves footy to try master his deficiencies, then bring him back on merit. Majority of our team is injured and we're plaing him, Cotchin and Samson (we're effectively 2 1/2 men down on the field atm)

Too bad 18 AFL club list managers dont think SS has wghat it takes to make it as an AFL footballer
Has the talent but not the work ethic or want

Too bad the WAFL coaches also believe he is too lazy and not good enough to play WAFL now either

So Mr Sydney Stack is currently playing Reserves in WA getting 7-8 touches a game
But he who cares he is going to be a Rapper and a Tik Tok super star

Ok - perhaps a hammy injury right now will ultimately help juniors development

My logic

Has been played before he is ready, perhaps because of the surname and likely for his forward pressure but there is much more to footy than that.

A coupla weeks out would take us out of his habitual selection mindset.
6-8 weeks in the VFL should do wonders - what, he got sent back just for 1 game didn’t he?

Needs to play 100 minutes per game in the VFL for a few weeks in a row to touch the ball 20 + times a game and kick a few goals.

Needs work on his disposal and choices, needs lots of work.

Yup - needs game time.
I would play him as a high half forward to get him involved in chains more - seems like at the moment he is almost 100% focussed on the pressure acts.

Here's a outside of the box thought, instead of coaching him to be a defensive forward
Why not coach him to be a dangerous forward
Inside the 50, fmd do we ever see Charlie Cameron chase arse all day? No but he knows how to kick goals , he's being wasted imo.

Because we desperately need someone putting on forward 50 pressure

Has reached double figure possessions once this year , hasn’t kicked a goal in his last 4 games and hasn’t had over 3 tackles in any game this year .
The bromance of his surname is ridiculous shouldn’t be getting a game and/or arguably on a list .

I dare say at his best, in maybe three or four years time (if he lasts), he'll be lucky to be averaging 12 possessions a game, but he may give us four good acts a game.
He's far from an accumulator.

Dimma doesn't let small forwards be small forwards, he makes them be small defenders in attack.

pressure is a team thing

I'm over this crap that one player needs to be our fwd pressure.

its bizarre, so what the other 5 fwds plus mids pushing up don't need to apply pressure cos thats mrj's job!?

he has had pressure act tattooed on the inside of his face so hard he has lost the ability to be creative.

play him in the 2s he isn't ready for seniors, not like this anyway.

Said this back in 2011 when Jake King was pushed forward.
It's up to more than one guy to apply pressure.
We eventually learned this in 2017.

Quite possibly the worst player I've seen in a Richmond jumper since Relton Roberts

It's a crazy role for a player that has traits to be a dangerous small, give the kid some licence to
Be that dangerous forward ffs.

back into the guts for the rest of the year in the VFL when back. get him working his backside off as a mid.
THIS.

We need speed in the midfield not a single pressure forward, that doesn't work. You need three pressure forwards or a new game plan.

Why don't we do what everyone else is doing and park the bus in the back half and force back half turnovers that gives you the space to hit your forwards inside the fifty.

I like the idea of him in the guts and getting 25 GOOD TOUCHES and still his three or four tackles we know he can be a run down elite pressure forward but we need to teach him to be more flexible
