Maurice was visibly upset. It was probably a good decision not to take the call as he might have said some bad things. It had no effect on the match.
If he apologises in front of the group, I'm sure they will all forgive him and get around him.
He's only 20 and we don't want to lose him to another club imo.
Actions speaks louder than words. We all seen the message loud and clear.
Yesterday i wanted him delisted
Think he won't get delisted but walk away from AFL anyway.

How your behaviour "looks" after you have been subbed out of the game has very little importance. All that matters is how you perform your role and that you are not disruptive to what the team is trying to achieve.
Yeah righto.Show me all the other instances in the past of similar "reactions".Doesn't have to be a Tiger either.

What alot of carry on and flog like posting over such a trivial event .

I reckon Maurice will end up a very good player for rfc if he decides to stick around.
A very proud Richmond man Maurice Junior.

Maybe he wouldn't of been in the position to get subbed off if he came back from his holiday and started the preseason fit.

He has been gifted the last few games because we need a pressure forward and Mansel was suspended. Hasn't been close to putting on a lot of pressure.

This isn’t statistically true. Against both Sydney and West Coast MRJ was the leading pressure forward in the game on the basis of pressure acts (I’ve weighted the Eagles game to take into account his sub).

Anyone who has been involved with a professional sports team of any sort would tell you that sort of behavior happens on a weekly basis. It was only a week or so ago that cameras captured Clayton Oliver arguing with the Melbourne trainer.

It’ll be dealt with and spoken about and will move on. It’s only because cameras rarely capture it that it comes across bigger than what it really is.

I’d agree with others that his kicking is a concern, but he’s never been - like Lambert was - someone that would lace someone out over 50m. It’s more about learning to play within his ability that is the issue for mine with MRJ.

Other than that, we can add him to the long list of post-2016 Richmond small forwards that get maligned because of seemingly poor play. Not saying he is going along swimmingly by any means, but it’s a position that is so difficult and rewarding to play.

I agree he will end up a good player, but his attitude was wrong yesterday as it was a total lack of respect for the coach. He was assuming the worst in what mini was going to say to him. Mini may have wanted to tell him positive things such as it wasn't quite your day today lad, but you're still competing hard and it's only a matter of time before things start getting better rarara. That's the problem i have with it as the coach is your master and whether your Cotchin or Biggy then you respect, listen and do what he has to say. Shit like that is to be frowned upon as it opens up cracks. Baker did the right thing in the end comforting him and cooling him down and hopefully mini and junior have a private chat with MRJ apologising.

I believe our ex captain Trent made a very similar display earlier in the year after being subbed.
Is it ok for Trent to do it but not a young kid struggling to cement his spot in the team?

true...

but only inconsequential if nipped in the bud

I captained a lot of cricket teams. Used to say to my players I want 11 players who want to bowl all the time, want to bat all the time and want to be in the key fielding positions all the time. But we all have to accept sometimes it is someone else's turn and just keep trying to get better in different situations. Maurice will I am sure accept this and keep trying to improve his game. Fwiw, I don't think him fuming at being subbed is necessarily a bad thing.

Massive difference between the 2 don't you think.
