If the obly knock on Maurice's game is he didn't get enough ball and missed a goal he should have kicked, he's done pretty bloody well.

Considering how he looked during the Pies game, today was a maroed improvement and highlights why he was picked over Cumberland.

It doesn't matter who kicks our goals, though I agree his miss was a bad one. But 2 goal assists and one tackle that was quite likely a 2 goal swing(one they were going to get v the one that resulted for us.)

Not sure how well Maurice ran the game out but he busted a gut in that first half with absolute top quality chasing and pressure, there is nobody in the competition better at it that him. When he is on, opposition players in possession consistently misjudge the speed of his approach.

We absolutely have to keep playing him while he is producing that, it is a huge point of difference in our favour. He creates the best type of turnovers you can get, forward half and totally unexpected by the opposition.

I agree with all mate but he stills needs to hit the scoreboard when opportunities arise. Cant be missing sitters more times than not.. Kozy pickett, weighman, bobby hill etc these players put pressure on but they still hit the scoreboard.

He converts alright normally. Today was a bad miss, but I don't think it is par for him to miss those. Those guys you list are basically first round picks and 3 of the best few young small forwards in the comp. Their general pressure is probably pretty strong, but you don't notice them going on the type of pressure rampages we saw from Maurice today. He probably ran out of steam late but if he wasn't playing in such a malfunctioning team today that level of quality pressure could do huge damage in a game.

MRJ was one of our better pressure players today, easily.

People need to stop expecting 25 touches and 4 goals every game
Mate you were right, he was awesome tonight
Shame about his easy set shot miss but the rest was amazing
Great signs

The only kids that I’m currently worried about on our list are Ryan and HRS as they’re both not developing or progressing. They both have poor body language and lack intensity when the heat comes on. The rest are keepers for a few more years.
Mate Colina is an exclusion based on his background and will most likely get delisted at seasons end.

I've always like Maurice and have defended him in the past but he's been around awhile now and he just isn't involved enough to justify playing him every week.

We need to aim to find small forwards who can pressure to a high level AND impact the scoreboard. Not one or the other.

Surely one of Judson, Steely, Coulthard, etc can do this next to Campbell. They've recruited a million of them

Be good if we would stop kicking it to him high in one on one's.
I have to agree it’s bombed kicks way above his shoulders as you say. Get the ball in low to him. We need to lower our eyes and stop bombing it. He must’ve got torched at least four times with a poor kick to him. The opposition just bashed it away from him and exited it straight out of our FL. I think we’re bombing bc we’re under so much pressure bc our guys struggle to get space bc we’re so slow.

The problem is we need more players like Shai Bolton that put score board pressure on, when Maurice gets the chance 20m out he needs to take the opportunities.

I hope he takes a lot of confidence from that and can build on , was his best game since 22 elim final . Only knock was straight forward goal missed directly in front 20m out , u can’t be missing those

pretty low standards were setting these days when people are happy with 7 possessions 2 tackles.

Number 1 for goal assists.
Number 1 for distance covered at high speed.
Number 3 for averaged speed.
Number 3 for total sprints.
Number 1 for Richmond for average speed in defence.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. He’s a Cat B rookie who unfortunately has a back that won’t stand up to playing AFL footy. Worth a gamble and it appears it’s failed, we will delist him and move on.
sore back or not he was awful in his games and fell over too often as well as all his other deficiencies. Hayes Brown looks an exciting prospect and is more advanced than Soldo at the same stage of his career.

Not saying he didn’t play well, but 😂😂😀😀 number one for distance covered at high speed and number three for average speed???
Not much of an achievement among the slowest group in the league.
We have about three blokes on the team who have any semblance of pace!

Are the Suns players quick?

Because those stats are for all players on the ground.

Don’t disagree TI, but again, it’s judging his abilities, and the decision to list him, in hindsight. Was worth a punt as he was a footballer as a junior before the switch to basketball and his height and endurance/running ability was a great combination in theory.

Pipe down Robot!
Let us optometrist be optimistic!

Just happy we saw some of that 2022 confidence
Still a lot of work to do but I’m very pleasantly surprised by his game and he’s given himself a par level that we need to see as a minimum every game with him hopefully able to build on
