Thanks for the insight. Could you have played Pearce, Cox and Logue at the same time down back or too tall/slow? Ryan is also no midget.

Logue's biggest issue is he's stuck is behind Pearce in his best position, who's probably the 2nd or 3rd best Fullback in the competition after May (and our stand-in captain with Fyfe hurt this season). Doesn't have the skill set of Cox (who is our best defender) and Ryan plays a different role, that 3rd man/general in the backline. Ryan's undersized but still plays much taller than his size suggests.

In an ideal world? Probably keep Logue over Ryan and mold Hayden Young in his previous role, but that's taking away another strength of our team elsewhere sadly. That or trial Logue in a Mark Blicavs role, but again we're taking him out of the backline again

Don’t think he was behind others just a better skill set than the others to try and cover for your deficiencies forward.

It annoys me everytime I see Brennan Cox mentioned. He should've been a north player.

We done a heap of work on him prior to the 2016 draft and we decided to go with Declan Watson instead...

Take it to the "we'll pass on Luke Ryan thanks" sub-forum.

The Watson and Williams picks make me cringe every time I think about them. Neither rated inside the top 50 for the most part of the year, yet we took them with picks in the 30's. Sean Darcy, Josh Battle,Tom Stewart & Brennan Cox all taken in the next 5 or so picks. I desperately wanted B.Cox.

That draft actually highlights, how much of a positive impact you can have on your list if you nail your picks. Freo pretty much re-built their backline in one draft and nabbed a ruck with top 5 potential.

Pick 8: Griffin Logue
Pick 38: Sean Darcy
Pick 41: Brennan Cox
Pick 66: Luke Ryan

Incredible haul.

It's those sorts of hauls which transform a club

And we were keen on Ryan at the time, so the draft media were telling us.

I’m stoked to have Log on board, but he’s no Riley Bonner 🤣

in Round 9 when he gathered a career-high 29 disposals, 17 intercepts and 11 marks against the Suns.

These aren't WAFL stats - that's in the ones..

Just scratching the surface with big Griff.
We got the next Stephen May at a lot cheaper price. At a bargain price.
