How often does a suspected ACL turn into better news?
Not often but not unheard of.

With swelling and soreness, a suspected ACL could end up being an MCL/PCL sprain.

It's not likely...

Okay….we’re seriously fr==++%. cursed….Who the heck walked under ladders, broke mirrors, swung a black cat by its tail, stole the last biscuit from the barrel…..
Just once ….just once can our recruits / players have some luck.

Fingers and everything else crossed 🤞 for griff…….

His knee didn’t give way, a bloke that size on a knee with no acl, his knee would give way.

Im searching for optimism and hope. Until scans its massive speculative. Even the injury replay could suggest many different injuries

Unfortunately for plenty of blokes it doesn't give way til they do a pivot-shift movement. It can give a bit of false hope when they jog off without it giving way. The hamstring often tightens up and stops the shin shifting out of place until the load gets too high.

Watching the footage sadly the giveaway for me is the way he grabbed the front of his shin (from the looks of it) reflexively.

Hoping for a miracle.

Depends on what pain he feels when manoeuvring the leg and what the MRI says.

Hoping it's just minor but it didn't look good.

Nothing to do with pain, that's meniscus. ACL physical test they draw the shin forward and back (Lachmann test). If it moves and doesn't have a firm end point, it's gone. If that test shows you've done one, and they always do that test even if you have an MRI, you've done one.

fingers-crossed... just cannot catch a break

We all thought he rolled his ankle.
Corr went to help him off originally then a trainer stepped in for a few seconds and then he walked off unassisted.
He went straight down into the rooms but there was no icing or anything when he came back out at quarter time.
Hoping it’s okay with the scan tomorrow but our doctor knows her shit and if acl is rumored then I’d say it is :(

Correct, Lachmann’s anterior draw test puts pressure on the tibial insertion of the ACL. If it is lax, then it’s torn. Us mere mortals don’t need one, but pro sportsmen and sportswomen need it for stability in flexion.
