19 Year old Essendon player assaults Taxi driver

I would think a $20,000 fine from Essendon and being ineligible for the Rising Star award next year would be a suitable punishment. Disgraceful thing to do if it is true.

lol wat.

Why would he be ineligible to win the RS?

It was outside the season, and off the field. Judd got suspended in the finals, but he's still eligible for the Brownlow

As Sam Newman said last night the media pounced on a drunk idiot who had not hurt or killed anyone. How will they react to a drunk idiot AFL player who did assualt someone and actually could of killed someone. Player profile determines how the media react and I bet my bottom dollar this will be brushed aside as nothing

It wasn't that long ago unless you're a kid.

WTF?

You are clearly speaking on an issue that you know nothing about.

Not a cent was paid to anyone (other than legal representation)

Obviously you're a kid that knows nothing about what happenend.

I'm guessing a smart-arse punk who often shoots his mouth off with nothing to back it up? Just a guess.

You just keep telling yourself they did nothing wrong;)

Ingnorance is a beautiful thing:thumbsu:

Anyway this thread is about an Essendon boofhead, I made my comments to point out that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Sorry you got so offended princess ;)

That was me who said it, and I'm pretty sure it was in response to yourself Lance. If so you have a bad memory

I do have a bad memory, admittedly, but I sure as shit don't remember that  Wanna dig it up for me?

Also, thanks for coming to the party. Now can you explain why you said that? What was the comment based on?

Spoken like an expert. :D

You know nothing hence the fairy tales about people being paid off.

But hey, plenty of morons here will buy it. You did. :)

Now who's living in fairyland?

We could go on about he said, she said all day and personally I don't give a shit.

To make my point again......

PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN GLASS HOUSES, SHOULDN'T THROW STONES!!!

The AFL needs to make a stand on this sort of behaviour, it is disgraceful and shouldn't be happening, even though this punishment would seem excessive it is the sort of thing that needs to start happening from now on to stop footballers from committing these mindless acts.

AFL players are role models and their behaviour can have a massive influence on young people growing up.

hey Nev, I didn't think my memory was that bad. I'll either accept an apology, or a beer sometime

Hurley will be in jail before that happens. I've heard some whispers about the lad that wouldn't please you.

You've heard whispers...come on mate, put up or shup, no?

I agree with everything except for this point. Only morons would be influenced by these actions.

People are always looking for a cop out and use the excuse of he did it so I did it as well. Surely people have enough common sense to know that this is not normal behaviour. If my kids starting punching people because an AFL player did, I wouldn't be blaming the player, I would be blaming myself for failing as a parent.

Great comment. The biggest and most important role models in a kid's life are the parents. I feel for kids who are in disfunctional families or foster situations, perhaps they'd look to an AFL star as a role model. But it's a long bow to draw. Most kids learn from parents and other familiars.

I'm hearing what your saying, it has to be said the majority of Taxi drivers are disgraceful

They either cant drive, try to rip you off, or treat you like crap

Yeah, let's face it, they aren't really people afterall. They deserved to be punched by drunken morons for having the temerity to want to get payed for doing their job.

You're being kind Fev has the maturity of an 8yr old, but he did not hurt anyone at the Brownlow. Really we can use any of Fev's misdemeanours as a benchmark on how Essendon/the AFL/the media should react to this incident.

Its worse than using a fire extinguisher on somebody.
Its worse than urinating on a window.
Its believed to be worse than a head lock.
Its way worse than being a loud rude drunk fool.

Yeah he is only 19 but this kid should be slated, he has brought the game into massive disripute. Belting anyone, let alone someone doing their job is terrible and severe action must be taken by his club

this is it, right here. What's to be furious about? Such a Bay 13 mentality.

Lovett wanting leave?

Lloyd being offered another contract but turning it down?

What am I supposed to be furious about?

Hurley will cop it hard from the club, as he should.

The rest of it is, with all due respect, complete dribble. But it doesn't surprise me you're pushing that particular barrel.

I'd make a comment about kicking a club when their down, if that wasn't such a wildly inappropriate metaphor right now!

Exactly the typical Essendon response. I look forward to the court case. He will be made an example of. Disgrace

I'm stating the facts. He assualted someone at their workplace while drunk. Exactly what the captains where saying not to do in that ad campaign

If its true the incident involved kicking (lowest of the low) and punching then the book should be thrown at him.
I don't care how good he is.

Fingers crossed it isn't true though but it doesn't look good.

Exactly the typical Essendon response.

and that's exactly the kind of partisan response I'd expect from you too, you humourless little amoeba you.

I've said numerous times Hurley will get his fair whack for what is, if true, a disgraceful affair.

How that makes Essendon a rabble though you haven't explained, & I don't think Daytripper was saying that either, so I think your hatred and bias is clouding your responses a little, you're a bit inconsistent and incoherent
