That’s fine Raz - just think of all the fun you will have catching up. An education at the RZSS is well worth having.

Released 40 years ago, ‘The Top’ is still one of my favourite Cure albums. It has been described as a ‘transitional’ album, which is fair, as the band moved from the Gothic gloom of ‘Pornography’ to a more eclectic psychedelic sound.

It was written and recorded while Robert Smith was also in Siouxsie and the Banshees and forms part of a psychedelic triptych that includes their album Hyena and The Cure’s 1985 release, ‘The Head on the Door’.

‘The Head on the Door’ is a natural progression from ‘The Top’ and in terms of The Cure, was a ‘high water mark’ album that could only be challenged by 1989’s ‘Disintegration’.

Redux Zeitgeist Surf School

see simple if you look hard enough lol

and had to google the word too

In 18th- and 19th-century German philosophy, a Zeitgeist[1] (capitalized in German; German pronunciation: [ˈtsaɪtɡaɪst] ) ("spirit of the age") is an invisible agent, force, or daemon dominating the characteristics of a given epoch in world history.[2] The term is usually associated with Georg W. F. Hegel, contrasting with Hegel's use of Volksgeist "national spirit" and Weltgeist "world-spirit".

Yes i know it now means

Contemporary use of the term sometimes, more colloquially, is similar to the Overton Window refers to a schema of fashions or fads that prescribes what is considered to be acceptable or tasteful for an era: e.g., in the field of architecture.

But i love the history of words and when i hear a new one go looking

I think I am from a different side of the tracks to you two though as taste in music is so different Even the big name bands you post you choose what to me is a lesser known song or album

So kudos to you both for just being who you are. Strong personality

Love them both. Head On The Door is such a perfect album.

All the members of the moginie family love The Cure. Between Mrs m and myself we've seen them eight times.
