Our own masked marvel superhero....

Legend of the club. Great player who ha splayed at the highest level of an AFL defender. i.e. pretty much God tier level.

Underappreciated outside the club and its supporters. But inside the walls loved and admired.

Is Tom Stewart the next Dylan Grimes?.

Grimes seems well past his best now, losing a lot more 1v1 than previous years.

making mistakes like drop chest marks he would normally not make.

The chest mark wasnt the easiest to take in the middle of the pack, greasy conditions. Obviously he would expect to take it. The push in the back when they had already shanked the kick was an awful mistake. He was probably at fault for the Chol goal as well at the end. He comes 3rd man in from the side and doesnt get anything on the ball and it gets over the back.

Having said that to hold up our defence like he has once we lost Rance has been amazing.

He has set a high benchmark that cant be battered. I was saying to myself during the game what happened to Grimes is he injured where is he. It was his worst performance well forever not that he was bad but hardly noticeable which is unlike Grimsey.
I have a feeling he was caring a niggle as he didn't seem to run freely.

Certainly didn’t play his best yesterday.
The back line in general hasn’t been functioning that well this year anyway. There doesn’t seem to be the chemistry happening with Tarrant in there. Vloss not playing yesterday also had a big impact. I wouldn’t be surprised if Grimes got caught in trying to cover/ assist Miller, and not doing his own job.
Tho No way am I writing him off yet.

Grimes is well and truely on the decline. I didn't expect it to happen to him yet, but his dropped marks and fumbles are here to stay it appears

Sadly appears to be true. Is not the general of the backline any more. Maybe part of the pressure of being a co-captain, but has no confidence at the moment? As for the co-captains decision, remember when JGTI was touted as a future captain? Before that Vlaus? How has that worked out? JGraham not guaranteed a game, Vlaus ill-disciplined.....

His form has definitely dropped off this year. I dunno why but I have a feeling he may retire end of this year. Its just a hunch but he seems like the type of person who wouldn't play on if his body is in decline, he also has other things going on in his life outside football.
No chance he retires. He has another couple of good years ahead.

His marking used to be so safe, now he has the dropsies but that will recover. Just needs to take a couple of good ones and the confidence will be back
