elim final 4 vs 5 at epping
elim final 3 x 6 at preston

prelim of elim winners at lalor on saturday
2nd semi at epping on sunday

prelim - preston - sunday

grand final
saturday at preston

epping's involvement makes choosing their ground absurd
a prelim at lalor - your joking its a crap ground

what is wrong with warringal park or even west heidelbergs ground

winning a second semi just got that little bit better with the prelim winner only having 6 days to prepare - is that fair for the culmination of an entire season -

They have to use grounds that they can force everyone through the door to pay. They dont give a toss what condition the ground is in as long as they get the $$$

Its not a prelim, its not at Lalor and its not on a saturday.

The 1st semi is at Eltham on a sunday

Note: All finals fixtures are subject to no team having a home ground advantage and is subject to change at the discretion of the General Manager
If epping is playing they will switch the locations of the elim/semi

They can use any ground they want, just need to erect some temporary fencing which is what they will at Eltham

2 questions:

1 - Will they bother switching reserves games for home ground reasons?
2 - Would the administration consider moving it around in the event that a team has reserves in the 2nd semi and seniors in the first semi (or vice versa) to enable clubs to 'make a day of it' so to speak, assuming the opposing teams are not inconvenienced?

Just take your dog and go for a walk along the bike path. They cant charge you to get in its a public park. Use to do it all the time at H'berg. Tight, yes but $$ better in my pocket than the gate man.

Good Luck Tight A$$, Nillumbik council has authority to give permission for the temporary closure of park as it did for finals series held at Eltham season 2006. Fences wil be erected and the Sheriffs' men (minus the Sherrif) will Police.

You might be best to sail you kayak down from Diamond Creek if ya to cheap to pay your $11.

I miss the sherrif, it was great fun trying to run the prick over every second satdy. Sure to cost more than $11 after taking on the creek, not a healthy option.Better off standing on the bridge, whats the chances of Connex having something to avoid

Firstly finals were allocated to clubs/grounds without consultation. Once again lack of communication between the league and the clubs!!!

Epping now no longer have senior finals after daring to question the league regarding costs involved in "hosting" the finals. The answer when questioning JC was "I don't know".........

The games were changed yesterday without notice to the club.

Epping has hosted finals for past 15 or so years. why should they be so concerned.

Obviously they have not been so wise with the 1,000's of dollars they have made from hosting this event over so many years.

Sometime the greedy just simply miss out

All questionable intelligence as to the profitability of finals over the years aside I would have thought all that experience you refer to would mean that they are better placed than most to seek clarification / ask questions in relation to the arrangements

I would have thought a club hosting them for the first time would like the fact that the arrangements have been subject to scrutiny and validation by someone who has done it a few times.

The other basic question is where would people rather play / watch finals - Epping or Lalor

Who'd be that club hosting for the first time??

Eltham had a very successful go of hosting Finals two years ago and have also very capably hosted an inteleague game a couple of years earlier.

Lalor have also hosted finals in recent years, so there are no Newbies here.

I am not privy to what Epping's enquiries to the NFL have been, but you should never bite the hand that feeds ya.

As to your question - where would you rather watch Footy - Epping or Lalor??

One answer - I'd rather watch at ELTHAM :D - where it is more enjoyable to watch footy and where wind is never a factor in how a game is won or lost, unlike the hurricanes you regularly get up & down the High St corridor .

Statement retracted - didnt realise Eltham hosted few years ago

Still stands that questions and scrutiny doesn't always mean people are being greedy just wanting to ensure reward and effort are commensurate

As to the hurricanes - you have to give us some time - I dont know of any other clubs getting their major sponsor to build a suburb wind side of the ground to improve conditions :D

I think you will find that clubs won't be making $1,000's under NFL as you have to pay for the priviledge of hosting the game plus they take all gate takings and a percentage of your alcohol sales whilst each hosting club will have to provide approx 20 "volunteers" to run the day.

If you have clubs playing who bring their own food etc. you make very little money for a great deal of effort.

Incidental cost

Their entitled to it

Great Team spirit and fun to be had by all - I highly recommend it!

If you have clubs playing who bring their own food etc.

Wait till they get a woft of the best ever Western Samoan Beef Burgers! I might even get some Curried Snags on the go

you make very little money for a great deal of effort.
