Yeah. This is the play for those of you who haven't seen it. As I just read someone say on HF, that is the true definition of pilon. The goal was the one that broke the camel's back.

I think that was pretty harsh on Flower to be yanked after being hung out to dry by his D.

Harsh or not, we were down 4-0 in game 7.

You'll often see goalies pulled when the coach believes his team needs a wake up call. Even if it's not the goalie's fault, sometimes it's necessary.

In this case I'd say a large part of it was on Fleury. The fact that we were in real trouble in game 7 means he has to go regardless. He may've been hung out to dry on that goal, but he should've also stopped it, given the bad angle it was on. Yes, I know it was a rolling puck and probably dipped on him a bit, but at the end of the day he's an NHL goalie and should've made the save.

lol @ Gonchar. He obviously didn't want to be there.
He looked as if he'd been told before the game that he wasn't wanted on the team and would not be re-signed after the season. Most lacklustre I've probably seen him, and I guess that's saying a bit.

Wow, that's awesome. Are you in Boston now? Get back in bed!

Make sure you take a video camera and take lots of photos. (EDIT: Not of bed, though)

I live on Cape Cod- about 90 minutes south of Boston- leaving work early tomorrow afternoon and will get up there. Got a small flip camera with videowhich I ought to be able to get in- have a zoom camera which takes good pics, but I think they get picky about people taking them in- I'll check.

No pics of the partner.....sorry, lads

In the context of the game, you are probably right. I haven't watched the game yet so I have no idea how many shots he had faced or his overall play at the time. I just thought it looked bad.

I've missed the last couple of games. Rask's stats have been good, but how have the goals been scored on him?

'79 Montreal vs Rangers

I vaguely remember running up and down our street.

Montreal won it 4-1. The end of the 70's Habs' dynasty,

Couple of interest6ing bits there...

In the semis, Montreal beat the Bruins in 7, when the Bruins got a too many men on the ice penalty and the Habs scored to tie it up.....

In the finals, for some reason, Bowman was going to start Bunny Laroque in goal instead of Dryden- but in warmups, he got hit in the side of his head with a shot and dryden had to go in and play- he stoned the Rangers.

Having an original six team with the Cup (that's not Detroit) would be fine with me. And the Sharks finally getting there would be okay.

As long as the Flyers don't win the Cup, I'll be happy.

A lot of people on these threads seem to emphasize goaltender stats far too much, what is important is making the big saves when it matters and getting the win.

Look at Grant Fuhr's stats, very average but he came up with the big saves when it mattered time after time.

This will spark the Boo-ins:

"Flyers have been all over in the past 5 minutes"

Hoping for three periods of overtime here.
