Can anyone give us a wrap of the North Hobart V Launceston Praccy?

Caught da last 2 qaurters. Launy were up by 10 goals! No names on the ground for dees. Stephens and Finch were playing for launy and a couple of regs, think one of the McKabe boys was playing too.

Heard Launceston pumped them but cant give you much more than that. What about Heidleberg vs Clarence?

Launny won by 12 goals, they will finish in top 3. They have regained their premiership midfield. Even without Sav and Derba, they have one of the if not the best midfield in the comp, Stephens, Ellis, Bristow, McCabe, O'Keefe, Campbell and they have there captain back Beau Green. Sides will underestimate them this year. Some really good young movers too who tales has done a good job with in the summer.

Is Derba anychance to get ichy feet and come back at some stage during the yr? not many big frwds in the comp these days...

Sav big loss, can play and adds to the roos strong big men department now that Sharman is back after his 3 week retirement.

Got told he is concentrating on his job, but ya never no. Best kick i have ever seen for goal. Is John Farnam, i mean Sharman back is he? Doin a farewell tour?

I went into Derbas pub about six weeks ago for a pizza .. asked him and he said he wanted to put some time into his pub and it would not be this year.. so guess not

Ah thats a shame isn't gonna be pulling the boots on but fair cop to him, hope his business goes well :thumbsu:
So who's playing this weekend in practice matches?

Hobart travel out to Boyer to face New Norfolk at 11am on Saturday morning, this match is being played at that time because one of the New Norfolk players (Leigh Post I think they said) is getting married in the afternoon and all the Eagles players are attending, we've also got a few ex-Norfik boys up at the TCA so they'll be attending as well.
So that was the only time we could play it. I'm not sure if I heard right but it's our ONLY practice match before the Round 1 game.

devonport beat south launceston yesterday by 4 goals at a windy youngtown oval, the pies having a dozen more scoring shots, the sour note being youngster vincent ponsonby doing his knee just before three quarter time whilst laying a tackle

Hard luck for Ponsonby, was a chance to be Rookied by an afl team with some good form this year.

I don't think it's as bad as first thought! Hopefully he will be ok and get back on the park. Anyone get any other results. Hobart v New Norfolk? Clarence v Launceston? North Hobart v Mariners? Glenorchy v Northern Bombers?

seen ponsonby @ the burnie v ulv match today and he was on cructhes, he went to the hospital last night and its believed to be an acl, but he goes in for scans early this week, big blow for the pies, apparenty one of the leaders around the club.

Glenorchy won by about 150 points all up, apparently North Launceston brought their under 18s on in the second but the Magpies left most of their seniors on. From what I hear.

A friend of mine says that a guy nicknamed "Podsy" (I am guessing he's talking about Darcy? But, he said young forward so I am not sure because I didn't goto the game, just talking to someone that I know plays underage.) booted 7, could have been 10.

Hobart beat New Norfolk by 75 points up at Boyer and the Tigers underage also had a very convincing win as well apparently.
Not sure of the ins/outs for either side, I didn't go, had to work till well into the wee hours unfortunately.

Boys looked good though from what I heard. Early days though obviously.

Watched Launy on saturday against Clarence, up by nearly 30 points at quarter time, The roos come back though, only a goal in it at the end. Look out for Launy this year, they looking good, may even get derba out for a kick to.

Yeah I couldn't make the 18's game, but apparently the boys got up by 126 points.

Hobart looked pretty good. Obviously a long way to go. Couple of good signs though. Cassidy looked fresh and played FF and a bit CHF. Howe played FF for a bit when Cassidy went off and looked really good. Like the way he moves and you can see something is going to happen everytime he gets the ball. Zeb Graham (Spelling) was tough at it. Couple of young guys I didn't know I think one was Jeric Socao ( I was calling him Jerry but that will change :D(Triabunna?) looked very smooth and also Damian someone from central hawks pretty tough as well. I also did notice Heath Neville out there and asked the presidnet about his clearance and apparently he was cleared late last week. Thats about all I can think off at this point. Probably a few too many beers between then and now. But it might make it worthwhile standig up at the TACCA in the cold.

Just on the underage. They came out at the end of one of the quarters and had a quick run and they looked very small. Then when warming up the NN boys were in front of me and I thought "We are in strife" I watched the first bit and Hobart looked good. Very quick. And there is this kid who is apparently about 6 foot 4 and only just turned 15. Took a couple of good grabs and kicked well too.

Things are looking up...Bring it on

Thanks for the wrap up :thumbsu:
I'm looking forward to Good Friday, Tiges against the old enemy!
Bring it on!! :thumbsu:

North Hobart beat the Mariners by about 10 goals on saturday, Zeke Gardham from Burnie kicking 5 or 6 up forward, looking like we finally have someone to give Robbie a hand out of the square. I play in the underage side and we knocked off Norky by 21 points.
With the game up in Launny, when both sides played their senior squads in the first 3 quarters (6 quarter game) it was a pretty decent contest and was only about 4 or 5 points in it when we put the ressies on for the last 3.
