Thought that I might as well start an information and rumours thread for the 2009 season.

To start, Matty Monk from IB to Dennington in the WDFNL, picked that up from the WDFNL board.

Heard from a pretty reliable source close to the man himself, Monky isnt coaching in Warnambool. Hasnt got the time with the pub. But never say never i suppose

Well it looks like the recruiting has begun for season 2009. Goonan going to South as assistant. Are the Kelly boys leaving Alvie as well? Wil this spell a downward trend out at the swans?

Looks as if Waters is off to Corio or Bell Post Hill, with BPH in the front running. Also Rahni Buchanan and Tyson Holt are supposed to be going to Colac.

Rumour has it Imperials have just signed Timothy Hasset to coach & possibly play in 09. Wat a fantastic edition to the cats. A real leader and a top bloke to boot... Was a real talented and smart footballer in his day.... One of many signings im lead to believe.................... His height will be invaluable to there young side

Keeping you up to date

Matty Monk is back in Warrnambool...
Evans is a definite to Lorne.
A lot of new faces at Birre, I can't put names to them as yet as I have only been once.

Monkey will probably be at the warras first game. Paul Finn (IB) will most likely move to imps. Aparently they have some good juniors coming up to fill any gaps.

Past names back on list

Lorne Football Club will welcome back two former stars for its tilt at a third Colac district premiership in four years.
The club has signed former premiership players Sam Parsons and Ricky White for the coming season in a coup that will ensure last year’s grand finalist remains a league powerhouse.
White has played for Bendigo Football League club Gisborne the past four years, while Parsons played for Melbourne University in the Victorian Amateur Football Association.
Dolphins coach Lee Hollmer said he was excited about the past premiership players re-joining the club after losing his brother Jack Hollmer to Geelong club Lara and defender Shane Trickey set to travel overseas a few rounds into the season.

Had heard that Lorne are looking to fill all the holes that were shown up in their loss to IB in the GF

Premiership players depart Bomberland
By Rachel Rodger • Jan 28th, 2009 • Category: Football, Sport

Reigning Colac district football premier Irrewarra-Beeac will start its flag defence minus four key players from last year’s grand final side.
The Bombers were set to take off from where they left last season but the departure of Nathan Harty, Troy Armstrong, Leigh Doyle and Sam Stevens has thrown a spanner in the works as the club resumes pre-season training.
Harty, Armstrong and Doyle, last year’s vice-captain, have joined Warrnambool and District Football League club Russells Creek, following former Bomber forward Matt Stewart to the club.
Stevens lives at Warrnambool and told the club travel prevented him from returning for a fifth season with the Bombers, along with his brother-in-law Matt Monk.
Bombers coach Dan Casey said the loss of players, particularly to Russells Creek, was a set-back after believing his team had committed to a back-to-back assault at the end of last year.
Some big holes to fill
