2009 Grand Final - Sturt v Central

What are you talking about? We (Port) don't even play in the same competition as Central. You also seem to be a Bombers, not Port, fan.

Central have capped off probably the most dominant period of any club in any era of the SANFL and nothing can take that away from them. :thumbsu:

But their fans are more feral than even Port fans dare to be. Bringing flares to a football match? What is this, Italy? One even tried to pick a fight with me as we were leaving just because I called him on his bottle of beer he had in his hand. I know now why they only charge $25 to get in to the grand final. So the feral unemployed w***ers from Elizabeth can afford to get in.

I don't condone violence, but calling people from Elizabeth unemployed w***ers isn't going to help your cause. As for the flares, don't condone them either. But as long as they're not thrown around like rocks like some twat did last year, I can live with it.

But hey, go ahead and call us feral, it just makes us louder.:D

I really have no problem with CDFC, in reality from here on in, a sucessful CDFC is a healthy SANFL, all we need now is my team and Port to become competitive again and we will have one hell of a competition. I reckon a Norwood or Port v Central would get 40k

What's needed is for teams like South Adelaide to grow some balls as well.

GF's with Port or Norwood in them should bring 40k. A GF with both in it would be 45k.

I would love to think you are right there, but with the total incompetence our club has been run under the last few years I doubt it. A lot of Norwood fans have simply given up.

Sorry, i meant Port Adelaide before they joined the AFL. Im a Port Adelaide Magpies supporter. Ive always supported the Magpies brand in the SANFL. The Magpies in the SANFL are virtually dead. They have no money.

that will change the moment they start winning, look at the Port v Norwood final 2 years ago, best SANFL game I have been to for many a year

The recipe to Centrals success isn't rocket science but the other 8 clubs aren't taking notice.
Why SANFL clubs take on AFL rejects who chase the dollar is beyond me. Centrals look for the best talent in other states competitions. (Goodrem - NSW under 18's, Callinan -Tasmanian B&F)
They also look for a particualr type of person. Generally it is hard working and selfless.

I must say, the AFL has been pretty predicatable and boring now that Geelong have been in the Grand Final 3 years in a row!!!!!:p

agree

Centrals have over the years targeted hard bodied players that win their own footy and that are good club men, Danny Hulm, Danny Stevens, Gowans, O'Sullivan, Arnott, Bello, Hopwood, Goodrem, Hays and Callinan are all examples of this recruiting philosphy

however recruiting has not been over the top as they have still had a high ratio of local products in their premiership sides

ten GF's in a row for 8 flags is truely amazing

some may say that the SANFL comp has become boring well IMO it's up to the other 8 clubs to accept the challenge and step up and challenge the premier club

Honestly the SANFL has always has the 1 dominant team problem, we had Port for the better part of 25 years and now Centrals for 10.

Centrals will go on to win at least 10 flags over the next 3-4 years, it's all about confidence and having a side that plays a gameplan that stands up in September which Centrals manage to do every year.

The SANFL Grand Final has become the most pointless event in sport.

Instead of complaining, maybe your club and the other 7 need to lift their game to stop Central winning!!

Fantastic for Central fans, you won't see any of us complaining and I'm sure if Norwood won 8, you wouldn't be complaining either! Up to the rest of the competition. Strong eras like this are great for the game, it instills history like Port have etched their history which makes the SANFL so strong.

Don't tell his heart, his achey breaky heart, I just don't think he'll understand.

I know him... a few of us broke that out for a dig a few weeks back. :D

BTW... the wrap-up will be delayed by at least another day. Dubbed the game from my Foxtel IQ this morning and the playback froze early in the third quarter so have to do it again.
