I am registered at poker premiers but i have a new account at hansa with a different name. I have just updated my details at poker premiers. Is this ok or would i have to register at poker premiers again?

That's OK as long as your PP details match your current Hansa name.

Chief, just to clarify what will happen in this situation, as I'm sure it will happen.....

.....In Rd 2, 4 players make the top 10 who also made the top 10 in Rd 1.

Do 11th-14th then get tickets to the final, or is the final reduced in numbers. Rd 3 and 4 only get worse.

My opinion, top 10 only, if it means only 25 players in the final, so be it.

I'm not totally sure what will happen with that, usually with Hansa, if you already have a token for an event, you can't play in a qualifier for the same event, so the same may apply here. Pretty sure there will be 40 for the final.

If you come top 10 in lets say, the first satellite, there is no point entering the others, you are already in the final. If you win 2 satellites it doesn't make a difference, you are just stopping someone else from getting their spot in the final, and though that sounds like a good idea :p it's not "in the spirit of the game" lol

theres a spirit of the game in poker?

its poker, its supposed to be a nasty, cruel game.

Well on here, I don't see the point of entering a comp twice to stop someone else getting a chance, even at crown or any tournament, once you win a satellite, it's not like you play another one, it's just common sense if anything.

some sattellites offer alternative prizes for repeat winners.

u should at least win the entry fee in cash.

Well in this case, you'd get nothing, personally if I get entry through the first satellite, I won't be sitting around for another 2 hours and playing the 2nd 3rd and 4th for no reason.

It depends on your reasons for playing.

If you are chasing the prize, OK, but if you just want to have a weekly fun game and hang shit on the opposition and their team of choice, sitting out weeks 2, 3 and 4 defeats the purpose.

I'm sure Chief wants to encourage that culture of every Wednesday night or whatever, you can have a small fun game with BF guys and talk footy. Only by having the games regularly will you increase the numbers to the point that it is enjoyable for those who want the social aspect but also worthwhile to the guys who take it more seriously. If you're like me and you spend your poker time multi-tabling and grinding $20 sit and go's for some pocket money, 2 hours spent on a BF freeroll with 5 or 6 sitouts doesn't quite cut the mustard as fun, nor does it make it good sense.

Yeh I undertstand where you are coming from with the sitouts, that was frustrating as anything last season. We will try and work something out with Hansa but there isn't an instant solution to it.

Open registration an hour before the game. If u intend playing, you will be online within that hour to register, even if it's with 5 minutes to go.

Being in WA and rushing home from work I sometimes miss registrations by literally 2 minutes....

I wouldn't mind having registration open an hour before as long as they accepted late registrations for say the duration of the 1st level of play...

Will see if that can get arranged actually, not sure if they do late reg on Hansa.

And to those in WA who get home from work roughly when the comp starts?

Sadly, it's just not as nice a solution as it seems...

If you're not home from work a few minutes before the start to register, it's a fair chance you won't be ready to start the game and will become one of the sitouts which are such a problem. BertRito summed that situation up well earlier in the thread......

Agree completely. Something needs to be done. How we do it is the issue but I think a lot of people will agree that it's a problem.

If you can't make it on time, then tough. I don't see why we have to try and please everyone, because it's unfair on those who do make the time to have to sit through 6 sitouts on a 10 person table just cause someone *might* be able to play.
