But then people may think I am a competent Capitan and I could get asked to do it next year.
Plus, this should at least let people know in this league that the week they come up against me is a bye for them!

No, not dumb at all- we haven't really explained that to all the newcomers at all.
Yes- it will stay up all year. The captain should upload a capture each week & everyone is free to discuss whatever they want in their league thread.
Last year some leagues had 300 odd posts & others had 10.
Just depends what the people are like in your league I guess.

Had a terrible week - 1842 - after Hargrave, roo (my captain!!!), dangerfield all posted near 0 scores.
Then came Barlow, Lockyer, Maxwell and Kennedy all posted sub-standard scores.
I've given up on Hargrave -hes been hurting me all season.
I think i'll be trading out Roo and Hargrave. thoughts?

Firstly Hargraves BE this week is 183 so another drop this week...If it was me I would trade to Rioli who will go up this week - he may be an injury risk but a huge upside.
Roo is easy - take Brown, Goodes, Chappy, ROK whichever one you don't have. Brown will go up still so I am taking him...if you want more there is a good article about this here: http://tooserious.net/?page=blog
I wish I had your Hargrave problem - mine is Tippett - I missed the boat and didn't trade him last week when I could have got Rioli...kicking myself.

You're 500 points ahead of me, and I'm sitting 3rd last (dropped from 9th).

Hargrave has been a huge dissapointment. He dropped 60k with his injury.
