Watched Dederang/Mount beauty last week against Chiltern they looked good especially new players Beau Packer, Nat Suriman, Kyeran Ellery and big fullforward Khane Rheinberger and Bob Russell. Had a few out according to the coach. the better players were rested after half time in most cases by the look. could fly under the radar a bit this year. then again it is only a praccy

Round 1 fast approaching, here are my "non" expert tips based on little knowledge. its a guess at this time of year.
Barny v Chiltern - Chiltern by 9 pts
Mitta v Dederang - Mitta by 32 pts
KSC v Wod Saints - KSC by 49 pts
Rglen v Wahgunyah - Wahgunyah by 7pts
Tgatta v Beechworth - Beechworth by 22 pts
Yack v Thurgoona - Yack by 19 pts

Big news on Monday: Beechworth's last minute signings get the bushies over the line in gf replay. ??Surely a side that played off in last years gf has more than one new player to their club?

[OTB - I think at this time of the year just picking a winner would enough let alone the margin. Where you bought your crystal ball from??:D

Barny ( ill go with all the rumours )
Mitta ( dont under estimate them)
KSC ( I think your extremely kind in you margin, might be close to double python to have an easy day)
Wahgunyah (on the improve)
Tgatta (winning a premiership surely counts for something)
Yack (Under the radar this year plus I like the roo colours)

Barny will win easily on Saturday, with the win dedicated to Simon Laracy.
Good to see both his brothers back in the side for the game.
Hear Nathan Laracy has been doing good things in VFL preseason games.

Havent paid as much attention as previous years, but my non-expert tips for round 1 are:

Barny v Chiltern - Barny by 9pts
Mitta v Dederang - Mitta by 17 pts
KSC v Wod Saints - KSC by 120 pts
Rglen v Wahgunyah - Wahgunyah by 14 pts
Tgatta v Beechworth - Beechworth by 1 pt
Yack v Thurgoona - Yack by 36 pts

On another note, glad to see both Laracy boys playing this week for Barny, Simon was a great teamman for Barny and good to see Werribee allowing Nathan to come back and play for his brother this week.

Lets start a great 2010 season!

Barny just over Chiltern

Beechworth to defeat Tallangatta

Hey all.
Great to see footy back. Saints off to a losing start but was a positive step in a new direction. Keiwa ground is in great nick even after some slight rain and new clubrooms are even better. Congrats to the Keiwa committee etc who would now have arguably the best facilities in the comp (Bar martin park).
Maybe if the league don't switch the GF to Wodonga, (Raiders or Bulldogs) they should make it at kiewa (only if they don't make it). Any thoughts?

Wod Saints not totally embarassed by KSC which is a good thing for the club and is showing that they may be taking steps in the right direction. Chiltern and Barny game a belter, both sides showing that they will be big improvers for 2010. Could both be surprise packets for the year. Surprised at the Tallangatta and Beechworth result. Perhaps showing that Tallangatta might still push for a top 3 spot.

[89 points , not quite sure about that . But the big question the ground? If 2 top quality grounds and surfaces are at the disposal of the league it would be recockuless not to attempt to use one. I know where i'd rather play. No ground in the league compares to these 2.]

When the ump bounces the ball you couldn't give a shit where you play. Stop being so soft cocked.

[You'd be kidding right.
Is that the most intelligant argument you can present on this forum about a pretty simple question. Im quite sure majority of the football fraternity would rather play on a ground of the two previously mention opposed to an oval that you would put the cows on to graze. ]

Round 2 picks,

Bworth by 17pts at home against Mitta (bushies to rebound from last week)
Rglen by 39pts v chiltern (just after reading sauru's enthusiam today in bm)
KSC to upset Yack by 2pts (not sure why just a hunch)
Barny should flog Dederang up there (although injuries may be a concern for tiges)
T'gatta by 19pts over Thurgoona
Wahgunyah by 51 pts over Saints

Mondays headlines: richo's 8 gets hawks over the line in nail biter.
