Honestly I thought they had the Z-team on last night. Was pretty painful at times. Only Jim Maxwell knew what he was doing.

Then again, I could just be irrationally angry because they tried to start the 'Doherty for the test side' bandwagon.

*shudder*

Probably the comentary 'C' team of Peter Newlinds & Roger Woolley. Both nice guys but bloody hopeless commentators. A bit of local chat is ok but they dont know when to stop. It is an embarrassment really.

I winced when the local Tassie commentators started building their case for Doherty playing Test cricket again. As they were 'building their case' they were simultaneously wrecking balling their credibility.

Jim Maxwell is normally very good but I reckon in the one-dayers he's got a bit lazy. What constantly annoys me is him not actually identifying the players at all - especially with the batsmen. "Malinga comes in to bowl and he has whipped this away on the leg side and picks up a single." "McKay bowls a shortish delivery a he had to duck under that one." And after each delivery we get a non-witty anecdote about yachting or some charity function Maxwell went to and there's not mention of who actually faced the ball. There are two batsmen out there. The other day someone hit a six and they waxed on about what a great shot it was but gave no hint at all which of the two batsmen it was. (I eventually deduced it was Hughes at the end of the over).

Another beef. They don't have to constantly mention the score, but if the score changes...they do. Again, last Wednesday they would have not said the score for a whole over, despite four or five scoring shots during it. A little annoying.

Gutted about the ABC not having the Indian tour.

Love cricket on the radio, you can just tune out to it, it's a glorious part of summer.

Only commentator I dont like is Peter Walsh, pain in the arse that guy. Fleming gets a bit annoying as well when he's on there.

I might be the odd one out here, but I've never been a fan of Jim Maxwell, I find his actual cricket knowledge to be quite poor.

Makes me wonder whether he actually played the game.

For example, he'll get excited and say such and such "is beaten down the leg side!"

Rubbish, the batsman has missed cashing in on a poorly directed delivery.
