I'm happy with the draw, but its going to be expensive trips next year!

With only 5 games in Melbourne the price of the membership should be cheaper than the $144 we had this year for the 6 games.

I can't wait for the GC @ Metricon as I may take the GF up as well and do a couple of days for the theme parks.

Hopefully we don't get a repeat of a B side going down to Tassie for the Hawks with the 6 day break!

Bring on 2012!!!

Easy schedule considering that I feel our coaching just went to Usain Bolt levels.

AFL = Masquerading professionals

Reasonably good draw. Question is will the team be able to take advantage of it under a new senior coach and a game plan?

Let's hope the team lifts next season to make the 8.

I only see 2 games I think we can't win (Hawthorn and Collingwood). I count 10 absolute stone-cold certain wins (unless something drastically goes wrong). Maybe 4 out of the first 5 are 50/50s, but I would like to think we can beat the likes of St Kilda and Carlton. From Round 6 onwards, it is a ridiculously easy draw. If we are fit for most of the year, I will be very disappointed if we can't make the top 4. Although I haven't looked at other draws.

Easy draw?? I dont know about that but whenever you finish 11th the draw always looks pretty hard.

I dont like playing Richmond twice we are their bitches.

Very hard first half of the yr and I would only really have us down for wins against Port, Adelaide, GC and Brisbane. 50/50 games against Carlton, WC and maybe Syd.

Second half of the yr looks better should win all our home games with WC and Rich testing us. Some very winnable away games against Port, Adelaide, Melb and North with an old fashioned flogging at the G in round 14.

Overall it probly is a good draw but that means nothing we dont come out to play. If we can make Subi a fortress then we should do well but if we dont then more of the same old bottom half of the ladder finishes. However if we come out to play we should be top 4 contenders.

I don't think anything is a lock for next season, win or loss. We can't get too far ahead of ourselves due to the new coach/gameplan.

Could be a season of pain. Shouldn't be, but we all saw how this year was a total waste.

This is the draw which a team finishing 11th should get.

I won't use the term easy because that would be insulting to other clubs but, this is a fair draw for Fremantle.

Five 8 day breaks all of which follow interstate trips.

Freo probably has Mark Harvey to thank for the 8 day break after playing in Launceston.

Consecutive Friday night games , Saints at Etihad and returning for Carlton at Subi in the LEN HALL game. ( they are big ticket games and I think signals a new found respect for us from the AFL ).

The six day break games have always been a major issue IMO, for interstate teams, and it appears we have five in 2012 with one involving consecutive games at Subi. I suppose that is one of the fairer outcomes of having 18 teams..

I can't recall a season where we have had fewer than 3 six day breaks.

I had Freo pencilled for top 4 finish, with Rossco move, and now with this draw I'll ink it.

Very happy indeed.

Pencil in two Derby wins as well. West Coast had an inverse of our injury situation - they always had their strongest 16,17 from their 22 (whereas we'd usually have 11 or 12). Their easy draw also instilled some confidence. Twenty-twelve will see them have an extremely hard draw - showcasing their tag as pretenders. We should really get two wins there.

Again though, how many times have Fremantle lost to poor opposition? Richmond and Melbourne are two immediate examples of this. We should clean up Richmond and Melbourne, but I'll go in wary.

Adelaide might be tough. Many people have pencilled them in as a finals smokey.

I don't believe Fremantle "can't beat" Hawthorn in Launceston, Sydney in Sydney, and Carlton at home. On our day, we've shown we can challenge those sides (and win).

Launceston isn't as much of a home as the MCG, so maybe we can give them a go. And although I like the Swans, I just can't see them being scarily good this year - they'll fall just below the eight. We should beat them at their own home - we did it with a somewhat depleted side last year.

As for Carlton, I believe our fit and firing midfield can keep up with their (extremely talented) midfield. Sandilands is the superior ruck. I'd like to see Suban tag Judd, and give him a hard time (because when he plays angry, Subes can be a great asset). I sincerely think we could beat them.

Collingwood at the 'G will be a big test for our boys.

As many have said, we should be ashamed if we miss out on finals. A top four challenge should be mounted as well.

Does the AFL know that Sydney can travel to Perth? They've played us at Subi three times in 11 years now...

From a supporter perspective its not a bad thing because they're not great fun to watch but that is an oddly imbalanced stat isn't it.

Overall I can't agree with people saying its an easy draw. Most of us have trouble picking 5 winners a week within the season yet 6-9 months out we're happy to predict game results with certainty?

The only things we can be reasonably sure of are;

Good teams - Collingwood, Geelong, Hawks. (Even then would it really surprise to see the Pies drop off big time?)

Bad teams - Port, GC, GWS.

That leaves 11 teams where no-one can really be sure how they'll go.

At this point I like the look of it too. But if WC weren't the easy draw and injury driven fluke we think and if any of Richmond, Essendon, WB, Adelaide or Melbourne approach the improvement WC showed this year then easy becomes tough pretty quickly.

Two Friday night games is a start, considering the quality of our kids and potential for excitement it would have been nice to have seen maybe one more.

After Collingwood decent run home, real chance to build some momentum.

Collingwood/Geelong/Carlton once is good.

Richmond/Melbourne have similar youth stocks and likely to be challengers going forward, good test to play them twice.

Last game of the season at home.

Can't see allot wrong with that draw to be honest.

On a serious note, I hope Ross Lyon doesn't get travel sick.

He will have never racked up so many flyer points in his life.
Welcome to the culture shock Ross.
I dare say he has done a decent amount of travelling, not only with StKilda's away games, but their selling of some home games in Launceston as well as travelling to watch the team they are playing the next week.

Should hear that new song belted out quite often next season, nice draw for you guys (well as nice as it can get when you have to travel 10 times).

What new song ???? Poor Harvs, he would have had half a chance with that draw.
Way better than last year's draw, etc etc !

First impression was that we got stiffed against the expansion teams. Melbourne played the Suns twice last year and play GWS twice this year while we play 1 of each. Although the it seems we have been compensated with some easier games. I'm neutral, I'm not unhappy but I'm not happy. We really should of had GWS twice.

Looks like a good draw cant complain.
I havent bothered looking but it wouldnt suprise me if Melbournes,Kangas an Richmonds is even easier.

We Only played GC 1 time last year would of been nice if we got them or GWS twice in 2012.
Wouldnt suprise me 1 bit if Kangas,Richmond an melbourne play them both twice
