There was a bit if hype early for Barny and they are still getting good numbers to training, but have any signed?

Nothing in the clearances for them so just wondering what people are basing the top of the ladder prediction on?

They will improve, but I would think they need some talls and 1 or 2 more qaulity midfielders to be a force

Perhaps a bit of internal talk from the barny boys has generated a bit of early interest, who knows, but my sources tell me the three ladgroves are playing there, a big ruckman from Hume League (unsure of name so thats really helpful isnt it), chook flower back from whorouly, mckendrick (??think thats the kids name) back from wodonga, be interesting to see their clearances when they get them in.

I see yack still struggling with jindera over the peirpoints, whats going on there? castles was approved straight away but the others still pending. anyone shed any light on that.

not sure if any matches got played over weekend as grounds were under water, so whos playing who this week.

the ruckman is from brock/burrum seconds they say jhis over 7 foot. McKendrick if he cared could be a absolute gun in the ovens and murray could take our league by storm he could also go wandering half way through the league

John Phibbs a good defender? Are you kidding yourself?! Good defenders don't give away stupid free-kicks and thats all this kid does!As for Thurgoona/Wahgunyah spending money they both would have spent $80k plus, you can't dish that sort of money around for too long!

Is there any actual knowledge on how much Thurgoona and Wahgunyah spent last year. Thurgoona seemed to have a lot of known players so their spendings wouldnt surprise me. Wahgunyah on the other hand didnt, yes they had Pierri, King, Kerlin and Northey for the later part of the year but if you had a look at their core group of players it was actually a very locally grown team. Some of their long time players there like Eales, A. Corcoran and D. Tobias have been a the club for years and wouldnt take much money if any! And if you look at the younger players for example L. Shultz, J. Keenes and R. Deas im sure these boys wouldnt have been paid players but yet they played in the team with good contribution throughout the year. I couldnt see Wahgunyah spending near $80k last year with the amount of local talent in the team. As for this year i wouldnt write them off as a they have still kept that core group of players from last year and have got some handy inclusions, especially Dodd!

fair few dodd supporters on here, someone told me the other day he was 35 years old, is this right? not sure that wahgunyah have kept their core group as a few of those mentioned have left. they will still be strong, good kids around still and jayme hicks is a gun.

Pierri alone would have got paid 20-25k,I heard over the weekend that wahgunyah has lost 12 players from their senior side but they reckon they have covered the losses minus Pierri with the recruits and players who were injured last season? Can anyone shed the light on who their recruits are and which players were injured last year?

Doesnt really matter what you spend as long as you have it to spend, we all know its about the coin and how long clubs can sustain there payments for and if they can get success in that period before they start to slide.eg Tallangatta.
Kiewa seem to have a good system never seem to get to the bottom of the ladder and are close enough to have a crack at the title every couple of years.I am sure we will all be watching Thurgoona and Wahgunyah over the next couple of seasons to see how far they slide after the coin starts to dry up

With the facility upgrades and how well the club is being run off the field at Thurgoona, I wouldn't be holding your breath if you're are waiting for them to run out of cash. With a membership base to rival most O+M clubs, Thurgoona suburb booming in numbers, a new clubhouse (changerooms to follow) hosting more and more functions, and the Uni all moving next door to the ground.... they will have no issue attracting players and no dramas having the $$ behind them to lock them in for a few seasons. Whether or not you are a fan of teh Doggies, hats off to those down there that have turned them around. Whether all that equates to a premiership this year we will have to wait and see but I would expect them to be the team to beat alongside Kiewa, with also Barny, Wahgunyah and MItta or Chiltern rounding out the 5.

I see on the O+M Bigfooty page they mention Sam Cranage has signed with Thurgoona. Yet no mention of that on here... Anyone at Thurgoona confirm this? Would be a huge inclusion

Don't be surprised if the Doggies long term goal in the next 10-15 years is to join the O and M (seriously:eek:) with the growth of the Thurgoona suburb and the excellant administration they have I wouldn't put it past them.

Chiltern played Howlong on the weekend in what i hear was a high quality hit out for both sides, with the Chiltern coach confirming what everybody is thinking he was a standout and looked a class above anybody else out on the park, Swannies on the up in 2012.
Anybody heard what is happening at Wahgunyah there was at least half a dozen of there players that had a run with Chiltern on Saturday

sorry Pussy cant help you out with any names very hard to work out new players without a record and corresponding numbers might have been a couple of the Chiltern boys talking it up.
Any body see last nights games who went with strong teams and who went with a mixture of players that may have done all the training

How did Kiewa look against Culcairn? I see they lost, but any new players to look out for? Were they outclassed or held there own for their first hit out???
