A groin, dislocated shoulder and another ankle Saturday, rippa.... We'll be right just means most of us will be twice as sore Sunday if u catch my drift.... We had a bloody good bus trip back from Nambour, gotta take as many positives as you can at this stage...

That's no good Mighty. Sorry to hear that.

Give Kenny Devey a tingle mate. Think he hasn't been having much luck at Alexandra Hills and may be keen for a run. Don't quote me on that.

I'm sure the bus trip was a blast! Ha ha

Muppet? Righto. I often question why individuals feel the need to talk that way about people they have no idea about. One thing I do know is that if society had to choose between me and you it would be a very easy choice.

I'm not going to beat a dead horse here, but our facilities aren't up to scratch (at the moment) but no other clubs have had trouble coming in for a quick beer.

I'll leave it there. Good luck everyone for the rest of the year.

Well done make a statement about talking about people with out knowing them. And make one your self. Muppet

Isn't it funny that if we were in Vic or SA we would have no doubt we'd get on. However in Qld the hint of moisture has us nervous!

Our Ressies are still owed a catchup game v Marooka because of the last cancelled game and it was a perfect day!

Not sure Vic or SA ever have rain that we see here. Their idea of a wet day is 20-30mm - we get that in 15min sometimes. Personally don't have an issue with it. If it means grounds recover faster so that most of the year the oval is in good nick then its okay. They play catch up rounds where possible.

smy, true or false / you work for the AFLQ in some capacity.

Agree that is is good to have the grounds in good nick however we played Nambour on a ground near requiring a boat and it pulled up fine. In regards to Melbourne rain, no it is not as heavy but it can be more constant. I have played on mud pits but at least I knew we would play.

My problem is cancelling the games when there is no problem with the grounds. Plus as I stated in my previous post we are still owed a catch up game and cannot get an answer to when that will be. We tried to have it with everyone else the following Wed however Marooka could not find a ground for that night. So both teams are sitting one game off the pace.

Very frustrating that's all SMY. Just want to play ball!

Yeah we have had a few play with us most weeks but they too are picking up some injuries and need to look after their blokes for their club first and foremost... But it is a great arrangement and works well when they have the cattle. We are off to watch them tonight to show some support back the other way so should be a big weekend of footy!! Good luck tmrw everyone!

Good to hear clubs working together. We used to play them in (what was then) Div 3 when we started and they were always a decent bunch.

Hopefully having some extra support gets them over the line.

Fingers crossed the all decision makers let the games go ahead!

just heard a rumour that the gold coast has closed all footy grounds, how does that affect camera.

Just heard this also, were exploring the possibility of moving the game to Moorooka
Hopefully there are some fields available, a game anywhere is better than no game at all. Making up games seems to be difficult. Will this be the only game affected?

Are you? Coomera hasnt been contacted. It's our choice to play and at this stage the game is on. We have until 8am to make the decision. Our ground generally holds up well so dont think it will be a problem.

All GC clubs have decided to play.

Agree Swoopa that it seems ridiculous if the council are closing grounds that are in good nick - now that we have had our 3rd season of proper rain it seems to be coming to a head. Surprises me that more grounds aren't sand based TBH.

The game is definitely on. At this stage it is still at Coomera. I have been to our ground and it is very playable. Puddles but better quality than Nambours ground when we played (not a dig at them just a fact).

It will be good that the Ressies get to play this time and we know they won't be dropping Seniors back because they are a good proud club (as all teams in this division are).

Let the mud wrestling begin!!

Yeah, that's why I said we were "exploring" obviously its completely up to you guys. No-one wants to just give up a home game. But I personally would prefer moving the game, rather than not play at all.

Heres hoping your ground holds up :)

As at 3pm Friday 1 June 2012 due to the inclement weather Gold Coast City Council recommends;

all main playing fields (field no 1) to be closed and the remaining fields within the park to be open for junior competition only at the clubs discretion and noting the effects of further wet weather over the weekend.

From the gcparks website

Yep thats what the website says and has said that probably 7-8 times over the last 2.5 years but we have never closed the ground yet.
