Saw the Simonsen crash last night and was staggered when I heard heard the news this morning.
He was a regular racer out here for years racing in the Nations Cup,GT,V8 Utes & V8 enduros.He was due to drive with David Wall at BJR this year.

Yeah, they use Radio Le Mans commentators which are excellent and supremely knowledgeable
I've not watched or listened to SPEED but i know that Americans love their overstated commentary and bright invasive graphics which I despise
I had the tough choice of which coverage to watch right up until the point I realised that Peugeot weren't competing and so I wouldn't be able to listen to the yanks say poo-zho and have a giggle.

Pretty sure that the moment I wrote this, the #1 Audi came in for that nearly hour long stop.
I will not be getting absolutely annihilated on the Friday be for Le Mans again next year. I'm really struggling.
That said, I can't believe how the time flies. It feels like we're just getting going and there's only 3:40 left (I say 'only' even though that's 2 F1GPs).

WTF??????? Simonsen's dead!!!!!! I've been out of the loop the last day, and I wasn't expecting to hear this ****! When I read NSWCROW's post up top, that was the first I came across it. I thinking "What's he talking about?" That is nasty. He'll be missed in the Australian scene. RIP

Davidson, too, last year. I had a feeling it was really bad when the pit reporters on SPEED were (purposefully) vague. After Jason Leffler last week, now Simonsen this week...not a good run for the motorsports community. RIP.

Tom Kristensen will win his ninth overall if he hangs on. There's no way now that those rumours about he and McNish being phased out at Audi will happen at least until after next year, you'd think? Not with a chance at an even ten. What an effort. TK is the man. Regardless of whatever happens now.
