I think it's a tad disrespectful towards our own team as well, they were excellent tonight and the MW smacks of disinterest.

This, this and so much this.. mexican wave has no place at the footy IMO.. smacks of Weegirls supporters arrogance and disrespect. Anyone would think we were winning the GF and it was party time.. since when is winning not enough entertainment

Nah. People we just genuinely euphoric. At no other game this season has the atmosphere been like that. It was like the crowd decided that the game was won at about 15 min into quarter 2 and that we needed to celebrate the season. For many it was the last game they are going to make this year (even with home games) and so people celebrated what is been close to our best home and away season ever. People were just happy.

Hey I even exchanged pleasantries with the muppets who sit behind me. Along with comments about seeing them all next year.

I vaguely remember a Mexican wave going around Subi during the final home game of 2006 (may have also been against Port). This would suggest it has a habit of starting up during the last game of a quality season, and is probably the product of the all round good vibes that accompany a top 4 spot. Harmless imo

Funny you say that. When I was uploading this my old YouTube account showed up as recommended...there is a video from that game of the Mexican wave. Not as good as Saturdays though!

I guess my point is im not celebrating a "successful" season yet.. but politefully respect others wishes to do so (although it did drag on a bit.. even WACA wave's dont last that long)
