Other than watching kids (and adults!) fighting to the death for the merchandise dropped out the blimp, the best part was seeing the kids who realised they had only got the Triple M ponchos. The very definition of disappointment!

I chatted to Sam Docherty & got a photo with him. So he was there for sure.

My associate took up a suggestion that Simon Black might have won more than one Brownlow directly with the champ himself.

Simon quite candidly confirmed that the Gabba's surface had adversely affected his career, although he was far too modest to comment further about his Brownlow prospects over time.

One thing he did say was that the hardness of the Gabba surface was not confined to the centre square- the outfield was as bad in his opinion.
