How much would you need from him? im thinking 135+
If he grabs a 120+ I'll have serious thoughts about it. Only because they're guaranteed points, and after a shocking opening night (198/3) I'm going to take the points right in front of me for the moment. Swan didn't really start off that well last year and has underwhelming averages against his first few opponents, so if Cox comes up with a 120 I'll probably take the 240 and run.

He had very tough oppo early last year its why i didnt pick him from the get go, unfortunately the little bugger scored 171 in round 4 and Hocking couldnt do to him what he did to Danger. Hawks, Carl and Richmond (first 3 last year) i think ended up being the 3 toughest teams to score against i know rich and hawks were 1 and 2. His last 2 against North he scored 145 and 162 IIRC and north most certainly dont tag.

Its amazing how different people think (im guessing your not a gambling man Dannnn). If i had a shit night id probably try and get every point i could eg hope Swan would get a 140 even if Cox got 120. I also feel after just one game im ahead of the pack (means sweet FA - just one game) but with that i might just go the normal captain selection in Swan like everyone else not leaving myself vunerable to any points being made up through bad luck where others have lost it with bad skill so far.

Yeah, it's a fair point. I am a gambling man with DT unless some premos capitulate early. Swan realistically could score anywhere from 100-160, which makes the decision really difficult if Cox pulls out a 120-130.

I guess going with law of averages 133 should be the number (if playing percentages).

So you're saying picking Danger was bad "skill"? LOL he was very high on your list all pre-season. Could you be any more conceited if you tried?

What else should i call it?

Danger was a no go for the last week and i was quite sure of it

Not trying to be anything, maybe i didnt use the right word? but its not bad luck

Rubbish, you were tossing up whether to start him or not only a couple of days ago.

Next thing you'll be telling me the people who picked Howlett showed great "skill"

I don't know, I think luck has a lot to do with it. You can only do so much research to help you select a player. A lot of signs pointed towards Dangerfield having a big round 1. A big preseason, good NAB cup form, all the physical attributes to be able to score well through and tag and is proven to be able to pump up big scores. Add to that Dangerfield scored 130 against Essendon last year. Plenty of solid reasons to select him. I don't think many people would have picked Hocking to do such a good job against him.

If Danger pumps out good scores for the rest of the year then this will all be forgotten and he will be a good pick. Will just have to wait and see.

Embley and Cox tonight, can't really complain with either tbh. Not terrific but Embley scored well in a quarter :)
