Great team and no I don't think you have too many mid rookies considering all of them are viable options and can score more than adequately enough as starters, plus the one less premium mid has probably allowed for you to go with two extra premiums in the forwards and backs rather than needing to settle on speculative mid-pricers.

In the mids, I personally prefer Pendlebury because he is more of a supercoach specialist but you're probably right with either.

Only issue I would have is Macaffer at F6, I personally can't see any forward rookie that is startable this season in terms of being able to produce a decent points return.

Fwd rookies are scarce indeed this year. McCaffer is great at F7 but risky at F6.
Don't know about others but I intend to skimp elsewhere to stack the fwd line to avoid donuts.
Rookies on other lines are much stronger IMO.

I have $114k left which I'm planning on using to upgrade Fyfe to a 500k-odd midfielder if he (Fyfe) doesn't come good for round one (seemed to struggle in the nab cup) unless anyone has other suggestions on improving the team? Thoughts would be appreciated. Cheers.

Take a look at getting Karnezis, Byrnes or Knights as your F6, perhaps go a Franklin, Walker or Roughy down to a Martin, Wright or Watts and Daniher or Kerridge up to Karnezis/Byrnes/Knights.

Surprised at Lack of Dangerfield ITT.

Shares the bye with Ablett and Pendlebury/Swan who most people will have. To be honest, i'd rather spend the extra 30k on Pendlebury who is a bit more consistent. Despite a great year, Dangerfield did have 9 sub-100 scores compared to only 3 each for Swan and Pendlebury. Would seriously look at bringing him in after the R13 bye though.

Fwd line is very different, suggest reviewing rookies and premiums closely - team balance will change accordingly

Cheers, thanks for replying!! I thought lecras was good value and I've heard betts might be spending more time in the middle. Definitely see where you're coming from. Thought this might be croziers year but it might be better to trade him for someone cheaper.

Agree with Toxic that the fwd line is weak.
Picking fwd rookies that will get enough game time to avoid donuts is a problem for all of us.
Mids look really strong but no GAJ is a risk.

Dale Morris isn't the best of selections in the backline either. Has never looked to be a decent scorer. Only cracked the tonne half a dozen times from 160 odd games. Look elsewhere IMO.

One option was downgrading Franklin to Bartel and upgrading Mayes to a better choice.

And possibly downgrading a premium on the midfield line and upgrading a forward...

I like Hanners for up and coming season and would like to keep him in team if possible.

Pretty solid side i think, a bit of a different midfield with the likes of Bennell & Hannebery. Not 100% sure but need a couple of gambles in every side. I don't mind the FWD line really maybe LeCras & Varcoe together might be a bit too risky for my liking but if they stay on the park then should have decent upside for you. All in all not a bad crack!

Ok, my thoughts on your side.
Pretty lavish backline. Rookies look good and will be popular.
Mids - 3 prem / 7 rookies is light on compared to most I've seen on here. Having said that your mix of rookies there looks great IMO and all should go up well.
Rucks - Never been a Kruz fan and luen has a delayed start. Personally, I would change one down and one up and go with 1 / 3 mix in ruck. Your rookies there are pretty std.
Fwds - You have been taking notice of what has been said on here and minimizing fwd rookies. Agree with the strategy and Kaff, Kerridge ok. Keep an eye on Neade, Lee and others in coming weeks.
Overall, I'd take one prem out of the def & fwd and go 2 up in mid and rearrange to get one prem in ruck.

one too few quality fwds, can't see the 4 rookies providing 2 viable scoring options, plenty of defensive rookies to use, Mayes as a mid -why? is it for dpp purposes?

Looks like the solid team style majority are gunning for: my only issue is your rucks, Looney looks like he mite be gradually managed into full game time

theres plenty of flexibility here and i'm willing to change different things depending on whatever happens between now and round 1. Maybe Goldstein to Jacobs and downgrade Boyd. I'd like to get Thurlow in somehow if he's going to play - but hes an uncertainty in Geelong's team. Not sure if Lee will play. Also, Zorko or Rockliff? I started with Rockliff early Feb then went Zorko up until earlier today and went back to Rockliff; just a bit unsure. Hoping Moloney and Varcoe play well :/ Anyway, feedback appreciated.
