The Geelong young blokes didn't impress today at all. The old fella's (again) got you over the line with out a doubt.

It's a good thing no one in the AFL plays past 29, right? Geelong is sure to fall next year due to this rule./sarcasm

The "old fella's" have better legs and more promise left than a good half of the players in the AFL.

Horlin-Smith after being subbed on collected 9 disposals & kicked 2 important goals
Murdoch had a lazy 18 disposals to go with his 7 tackles & 2 goals
Varcoe was pretty quiet as well with only 16 disposals, 10 tackles & 2 goals

some great pressure in the forward 50 especially from the last 2. Might be best to actually watch today's match and not put on a replay on the game from round 13 last year.

Wow - I sit right behind the goal posts on the 2nd tier grandstand (perfect view of everything) at the Gabba as a Brisbane lions member and I was their till the final siren. Good call champ:thumbsu:

uhh... for Geelong buddy? o_O

I'm sorry, I thought we were pointing out the aging squad.

Sure, if Enright's injury is bad enough, might lose him. Otherwise... you'd be surprised how being on a consistent winner can keep the legs young.

Good thing they got rid of that ancient Chapman guy. Hate to see him weighing them down at the old age of 32. Can't believe Essendon picked him up, he's been useless.... right?

Dw we are pointing out the aging squad - 9 starting players turning 30 and older this year says there isn't much point need though, unfortunately for you. Enright would be a big loss. He was so composed with the ball today. Very big shoes to replace. Giving up Chappy was a mistake IMO. This year was always going to be the last year before your team slipped out of the premiership race. Giving him up a year early is simply trying to rob Peter to pay Paul. Unfortunately for you don't have the talent to replace someone of Chappy's talents. Meaning you just gave a step up to one of your fellow top 4 contenders.

The Lions fan is right, lot of Geelong's younger players were average. Though young players are not consistent so I am not overly concerned. Veterans were key to win.

I don't think we have played a team that will play finals yet so very hard to judge how we're going.

I don't understand how detractors sit there and say the Cats should've kept the oldest player on the squad while at the same time say they should stop getting older. That logic just doesn't work.

Also, I don't understand why 30 is such a magic number. Today's athletes are much better conditioned to play well into their thirties.

Will be up there again, if for no other reason than there just aren't many other teams that are going to go past them.

Tiges, North, Crows, Swans, Pies all look ordinary so far.

For Geelong to go down, someone has to go up and not sure who that's gonna be. Port, Eagles, Dons maybe but are they better than Geelong?

Agree 100% not sure if we are just "doing enough" to get over these two bottom 6 clubs or that's our level. The next month will be very telling.

Then try to pay attention as your views on the match and the performance of said players is nonsensical and ridiculous.
