You can thank the AFLQ for these results for changing decent compsMercy rule?
what do you meanYou can thank the AFLQ for these results for changing decent comps
The comp between 2005 and 2013 Pineapple Cup/Allied pickfords became morewhat do you mean
The comp between 2005 and 2013 Pineapple Cup/Allied pickfords became more
even and competitive blowouts were becoming less frequent/ Then ot all got changed back to square 1
Mayne should be in the QAFL, they were very good last year & unlucky to miss finals, and with the calibre of players they have they would be right up there!! Didn't they smash UQ & Mt Gravatt in pre season??At least Mayne are in the other side of the floggings now. It will take a while to settle down, but the comps will even out over time.
Maybe one day but the club declined the offer to go in the QAFL as they thought they weren't ready for the step up at this stageMayne should be in the QAFL, they were very good last year & unlucky to miss finals, and with the calibre of players they have they would be right up there!! Conversely a couple of sides probably shouldn't have gone into the QAFL, but time will tell.Mayne should be in the QAFL, they were very good last year & unlucky to miss finals, and with the calibre of players they have they would be right up there!! Didn't they smash UQ & Mt Gravatt in pre season??
Reckon a fair difference bn comps still. Sometimes I think the AFLQ, as a means of allowing for travel as well as maintaining a reasonably even comp is to have a 12 team comp, play everyone once (11 games, assume a max of 3 games would be travelling a long distance, say SC to GC) + the 6 sides north play each other twice and the 6 sides south play each other again (another 5 games). Would mean 16 games only of course. Then have a final 6 which hopefully would account for a level of disparity bn the north and south (if there is any?). Out of 16 matches you would play a maximum of 3 games with over 150km travel - not alot I reckon to accommodate an even competition. Think this would work at Colts level too. Sides that don't play in this comp (call it QAFL(A) if you like) then play in a very regional based comp (QAFAnorth and south). If you took the top 6 sides from both the north and south this year it would be a really good mix of teams imo. And have relegation/promotion as well if you like.
Would be a great result if it was true, but haven't gotten any wind of this yet.Can anyone confirm that the incredibly fair footballer from Noosa has been suspended for 5 weeks for his dog acts on Nambour and Kedron footballers?
Yeah SMY there doesn't seem to be much of a pathway for the young guns to play a higher standard from the SC. And great point re: the travel to games not being the issue, but the training is a massive deterrent.Agree Footy 1st - think it does matter if a guy wants to play QAFL and lives on the SC though bc he has to travel
200km round trip just to train! To
play it doesn't matter too greatly
(to most blokes)
That was the plan in building that facility wasn't it? Population growth, SC recruitment market etc?Is what it is currently Footy 1st I suppose - we will have a QAFL side up this way in due course. TBH even
Burpengary would be alright as it
is only a 40min drive from most
areas on the coast to there.
