Yeronga will be stronger second half of year. Various blokes serving suspensions for social media policy misdemeanours so don't count them out yet.

How's Ryan's form for cooly - 13 out of 17 isn't a bad haul. Surely swoopa someone had to go to him!
I totally forgot about the media thing. What were the penalties?

We were stretched in defence last week with 2 of our key defenders from last year away overseas, but in saying that Cooli used him well.

He was good in the air and on the ground and we won't be the only team he kicks a bag on.

His attitude leaves a little to be desired but I guess when you kick 13 you're entitled to act like a clown

What did the yeronga guys get suspended for ? Can anyone clear that up for me !

Alex went down to kings today , great game of footy bombers let the kings get a jump in the first by 6 goals but worked their way back into the game go with a. Point in the last before a dismal umpiring decision cost bombers on the score board and killed the momentum , kings , are going to struggle to live up to the past years IMO , but I will wait until round 14! Before I make that decision .

As a bomber really please with the guys effort today I know coach woods was as well , had we kicked straight could be sitting 2-1. Great to see a loo of younger brigade standing up today when the game was on the line...

Considering Alex have had the lowest age average in the comp of the last 4 years it's good to see blokes with 50 odd games under their belt start to for fill their potential .

Special mention to Tom Henwood on playing his 100th senior game for the club , has been a great player and had a horror run with hamstring injuries over the years.

No doubt younger brother Mitchell will join the 100 club in years to come as well .

Now I am ganna have my gripe of the week , the umpires!!! They were really good in round 1 , but round 2 v yeronga and today v kings they were disgusting , they couldn't even communicate with each other, as a bomber I feel the umpires were harsh on us today , but if I was a king who had lost I would be saying the same thing .

Each week you play by a differentl set of rules it's a total joke , all I call for is consistently!

Steamer out !!

9 goals off 1000 in qld. Massive effort in anyone's book. Has been a fantastic bloke to have at the club - one of the last to leave functions, family is at the game and his old man is on the committee and running the can bar.

I'm going to open myself up here a bit, but not one person has circulated a rumour about "robina are paying Fults xyz" cause he isn't getting a cent as opposed to what some other clubs both in north and south div have done to attract players. Not having a go at those that are paying recruits, just that ud struggle to get that level of buy in from someone just in it for the cash.

Quality bloke and I hope his achievement gets the recognition it deserves from aflq who despite having completed rnd 1, still make it a priority to do articles on there website about practise games. Would be nice to be able to log onto the website on a Monday and read results and bit of a review as opposed to getting it off here! #rantover

Mate , how was the day with Fults booting his 1000th. See he kicked 4 out of some 24 goals....... was he well contained or went off early with a injury?

Its obvious that all of you love your local footy, but its time you all opened your eyes. On a week to week basis, this game is getting harder and harder to watch at any level ( see blowouts ). AFLQ have completely stuffed the restructures to the point where, we are going to finish with less clubs than we started with and they will be forced to restructure all over again. Time for all clubs to have a bit of foresight and get on the front foot with this, otherwise, I see a grim future for AFL in this corner of the country.

Agree that most didn't rate
the restructure, most leagues
restructure quite regularly & generally 'most' disagree. So far (in it's 1st yr) the restructure has caused blow-outs, undefeated sides, winless teams but has minimised travel... In any comps last year were there similar results (eg Yeronga vs Wynnum)...this is not a science, some of the dominant teams (dropped down) usually lose mature players had the status quo remained, however the new comp sees them play "1 last year"... Local footy will never have 1st and 10th separated by % alone... The bulk of competitiveness falls squarely on the clubs first.

I was involved in the decision making process for our club last year and it was made clear to us, that we either moved this year, or we would not be moved in the near future.

The club needed to make a tough call, but we have a good junior club with a lot of numbers to come through soon. We had to decide to move now, and provide them a good level of footy to play in at senior level, or stay where we were and watch them leave for other local clubs at a higher level.

The challenge we face is continuing to be competitive without having the ability to "reward players" financially.

Still far from full strength in either team, we look forward to having a better finish to the season than it appears at the moment.

Is Murray no longer at Coomera? I see he has played a few at Jimboomba... He might be a bit good for some at that level..

Yes unfortunately for us he moved out that way. Our loss is definitely their gain.

I hope your talking about muzza being a loss for your 2s team swoopa otherwise your 1s might struggle a bit, he is a mediocre 1s player in this league at best. Muzz thought tough football was giving a cheap elbow to an opponent 100 metres from the play.

Hmmmm... It is strange to me to hear all of this feedback as I never once saw him do anything like that with us. Maybe he got wiser in his later years.

Either way, I'm sure he'll do well in black and red.

Funny how you see Logan and point the finger, and never see your own do it, Swoopa.

Definitely funny, if in fact I had an issue with Logan and "pointed the finger". Which I do not. I used to enjoy playing their guys, as most of the ressies were good blokes.

Except for that guy who blatantly punched one of my team mates in the face, and myself in the throat, after he had laid one of my other team mates out late.

That guy I didn't like so much, but this is the first I've said about it from memory.

So your opinion seems odd...

Been a while between drinks so figured id fire up again before watching a ripping day of footy across different codes!

Yeronga boys got time for sending various pics and tweets which I believe was in response to the "possum" situation. last ill comment on that as again don't want to find myself facing the wrath!

Was a good day for fults - probably pretty glad to get it over with in the end - lots of pressure and a pretty big build up. fair play to kenmores 18 who it was from memory who played on him. good battle.

Agree the comp has reduced travel which although as twinkle points out is still finding its balance I can say we have seen an increase in people at games which I think is great.

muzza will almost of had as many clubs as KP at this rate! he'd be loving playing out the square against 4th div'ers and telling them how well hes going or threatening to rip there heads off hahaha

Swoopa ur spot on - any transition to another comp is going to take time - but its important to give kids a chance to play decent footy on the coast or they just leave when they are 14 to play at broady / southport etc so creating a pathway creates buy in from a young age.

We make the trip to Alex this weekend keen to right the wrong of last year. Starting to really get some cohesion in the 1s. 2's are still a little unsettled but a couple of gf players return this week. Very conscious in both grades that its only April not September yet.

Will be interesting to see the additions to team sheets come the next 8 weeks as teams look to identify gaps in their lists before the june 30 cut off.

Fair call Footy but this restructure was designed as a pathway for young guys to be drafted and the consequence of that is an unbalanced comp, particularly at qafa sth level. I've spoken to people at springwood who told me that the only reason they are in this comp is because they couldn't afford to stay at qfl level, yet, this is a side who played in the grand final at that level last year. It seems to me that this restructure was designed for 5% of the players in SE Qld and very little consideration for the rest. Even comps will entice more players than lopsided comps, remembering that we are in direct competition with so many other lesser sports up here

sorry, that should have read, qfa sth level

Blokes getting drafted aren't playing qfa Sth or north. Only 1 comp a bloke will get drafted from and that's the NEAFL. The qafl is a support network for the NEAFL but a true club comp. not sure this comp will be lop sided. These comps were set up to promote participation with less travel. I agree that level comps are probably more important but certainly crowds are better with local games. Maybe these sides will improve in due course as well. Can't see caboolture being terrible for ever.

Listen KP you are a hack. Old mate Bez is a better player than you will ever be. Some say that the old mess JJ Martin could play better footy than you.
