You have some amazing suggestion for west localfootywatch. You are very passionate obviously, have you put your hand up to join the committee? I'm not sure writing on faceless forums will get any results?

No, I have been away since 2012, watched 20 games since, due to working weekends. I cannot just walk in after being away from the football club as a player and a person I cant just walk up and be like yo, got some ideas can you give me five minutes? Sometimes if you are "in" with the core group, your opinions are brushed aside, that is why I post here. I know people from the club check this often. So I genuinely hope my message is relayed to the appropriate person/people.

Nobody really shares my views and opinions, interested to hear some, perhaps, you max mason might be able to share your thoughts on my views on West? Or anybody else?

What works for one club doesn't guarantee it will work for another, Parkside have an up and coming junior club which heavily backed the move to the Ammo's west clearly don't if the current players don't want to play/ do the travel/ not get paid/ not be able to have a beer during the seniors then you are faced with another set of issues not based around money.. What if 50% of your list leave? How do you recruit 25+ players with no base? What if west go across and lose what decent players they have and don't find immediate success? Do they fold? Possibly? I'm personally don't think it would suit there club.

I know a few past players and few that are current and the club is always pleading for volunteers and support. If you don't want to go down and help your club on the committee why don't you pull the boots on? Run water? Work in the canteen? Empty a bin? These are the real people at footy clubs not alias on footy forums and fake emails addresses.

What is Kilmore like? Not familiar with RDFL, will they be a walk up start to play finals?

Kilmore have won about 5 games in the last 3 years. They would have to recruit if they do go across & wanna play finals.

Local just because you have not been around for a bit trust me when I say if you ring your club and ask if you can help out and also advise them you would be interested in jumping on the committee I doubt very much that they would turn you away as most clubs are screaming for people to get on the committees as most are under staffed and over worked. Get stuck in with them push the barrow the same direction and you never know what can be accomplished . clubs need people with passion like you.

Only what I seen on social media this morning
Daniel Moore won league B&F
Daniel Bailey won Coaches Player Of the year
Kyl Ewart won the Goalkicking

Congrats to Moore for winning League B&F well deserved. But the team of the year and votes.???? Who does that.
How does a team finishing on the bottom get 3 in the team.? How does Chilcott get CHF in front of Gumbelton but not get a vote in the B&F???? so many strange ones?? i guess thats what you get when kids umpire and vote. Does anyone know who and how the team of the year is picked.??

Some very unlucky blokes that's for sure , and Shelton must not be very popular either on the bench in team of the year and only got 3 votes in the b&f ????

The coaches nominate the best defenders midfielder forwards from the opposition in certain. Bailey won the coaches player while Ewart won the Goal kicking, that explains there selections. Chilcott finished 4th with 49 goals, so yeah that's a terrible season. Gumbleton played 6 games or there abouts. Jezza Bennett and the big Ruckman from Epping are very stiff to miss out IMO

I wouldnt say a terrible season but if you have seen more games i will agree with you saying it. Gumbleton played 9 and kicked 26 goals in a bottom 3 side from CHF. So im still unsure who is on the panel to pick the team of the year and what the criteria is.

If we're going by goals Harrison kicked 53 and played two less games than chilcott ?? I would of thought Hughes from Epping a little stiff too seen him play some really exciting footy this year , when it comes down too it though there's always going too be a few that miss

Coaches votes are most times not correct. Wonder how many team managers put the 3 best in?

having a look around I found this attical in the herald sun looks pretty certain Kilmore are headed to the NFL
"The Riddell District Football League outfit held talks with the NFL last Tuesday regarding the application and will ask its members to vote on the switch on September 25.

Should that vote pass, a further meeting will be held with the NFL and its club presidents on September 29, which could rubberstamp the move. The NFL has indicated it will ask member clubs to accept Kilmore’s application for a spot in Division 3, which currently has seven teams. Kilmore president David Milne said a switch to the NFL was viewed as important for the Blues’ long-term viability" .
and this artical in the Star weekly

"A Northern FL spokesman said the league had received an application from Kilmore FNC to join the league in 2016.

“Kilmore officials have met with the NFL Board to present their application and for the NFL to discuss their application in more detail,” he said.

After careful consideration, the NFL Board has agreed to recommend to all NFL affiliates that Kilmore is accepted into the NFL for season 2016.

“NFL affiliates will have to vote in favour of Kilmore joining the NFL before the matter can progress any further.”

Attended the meeting on Friday night where the vote by Kilmore members was quite a favourable one for the club to continue with it's application tohead your way for 2016 and beyond.

I think some people jumped the gun with the Wallan comparison. I worked local media up this way around that time, and whilst Wallan were seeking an option, so too were every other RDFL club as the competition was extremely close to disbanding. Kilmore were in talks with the HDFL "just in case" and by the time the RDFL had gotten off the ropes, dusted itself off and boxed on, Wallan were committed.

From what I could gather Friday, Kilmore's situation is pretty much "if we get to the NFL we'll have workers and players, if we stay in the RDFL we may have players but no workers." The current committee in not so many words hinted they wouldn't continue if the club remained an RDFL affiliate. Tough one, I'm heavily involved with our junior club, but also want a senior club to be an option for my boys so I guess whatever may ensure that when the time comes I'll be in support of.

Mernda - Jason Ford replaces Brett Wilson
Epping - No coaching appointment announced yet.
South Morang - Dean Grainger (Heidelberg Ressies) replaces Craig Lambert
Watsonia - Corey McCall reappointed
Banyule - Jason Plant in 2015. I believe reappointed, but haven't seen any announcement.
St.Mary's - Con Borg reappointed
Heidelberg West - Derek Shaw in 2015. Has been advertised so I assume Shaw is not continuing. Havent seen any announcement re: 2016.
Kilmore - potentially new side to NFL from Riddell. Travis McCarty coached 2015.
