Really, logic says that Lacey should have Cobain'ed after 'Daisy' (which was far more jarring than 'In Utero', given where Brand New started from). I doubt they're going to turn all pop-punk again, but I don't think they'll go so far down the rabbithole again, either.

I get the feeling this is just a random track thrown out there, rather than a new album track. Still, a nice little taster I reckon. I wouldn't mind if they eventually put out something like Prawn's 'Kingfisher' from last year TBH, a bit of atmospheric/shoegaze-y classic emo.
I think they could do that sort of thing really well actually. I still really enjoy the new song though and wouldn't be annoyed if it was indicative of a more straightforward album (if they ever release it).

Also digging Braille's release, Mute Swan. Has a really cool minimalist 'negative energy' house/hip hop beats vibe to it. Sounds like tracks are being played backwards with all of the energy being sucked out of the room (In the most positive way possible)

Turnover and their new record Peripheral Vision. It's one of the best examples of that indie shoegaze type of music that's being produced recently by bands that used to be punk/pop-punk bands ie Title Fight, Citizen, Superheaven etc
