Nambour Vs the Bye this week, Bye may come out on top!?!
I have seen a couple of Nambour's games this year, after half time they fall away badly, last qtrs. they get blown away.
Not sure what happened during preseason regarding fitness, looks like there is a hill to be climbed.

Agreed not sure what went on in their preseason their 2s actually look fitter than their 1s who ran out a wet game against a fighting MB side threatening a second half comeback. Where the 1s just fall off after half time. Granted they are a brand new side something like 18 new recruits including some coast boys from Maroochydore and Pomona. They'll be a good side with abit of fitness and when they learn how to play together.

Mayne still seem to be stronger than any other side in this comp. I'm tipping early it'll be back to back in both grades.
Hey hope you are right but you know funny or not so funny things happen in footy

Blockbuster - More like Ballbuster as far as Maroochydore are concerned. The expectation is a Mayne victory by 60 points +.
Hardly a blockbuster.
Hmmmm you were saying? congrats to Maroochy for winning the Blockbuster! Better side won on the day!

Only an idiot who doesn't know much about this comp would have assumed that today's game was a les down misere. Maroochy have recruited very well, noosa have too and mayne were not a 10 goal better side last yr than anyone. Good on maroochy for knocking over mayne today, puts back some interest into what (obviously) some dills felt was a premiership given for the south tigers. The comp isn't perfect but with moretons improvement and caloundra and aspley solid it is a pretty even comp.

Yes smy some people forget this comp has only started, just needs time to let the dust settle. Sure there has been some abnormalities but things slowly level out, today was proof of that, Mayne losing , moreton belting Aspley Caloundra putting up resistance against Noosa. Nothing is guaranteed until the final siren GF day

And I would suggest that daly and co would be a bit relieved to get this loss out of the way. Mayne will be better for it but what it does do for noosa next week is show them that mayne are beatable.

Faulkner goaless. that would have to be a first i reckon

Not at all. All credit must go to his direct opponent and the pressure put on their midfield. Few blokes eating humble pie today with some ridiculous calls on Friday.
Not making excuses but he did do his hammy 2 weeks ago. Agree wuth the humble pie those people who made those ridiculous calls are no where to be seen.

Would have assumed his hammy was ok if it was 2 weeks ago he strained it? Not sure mayne would have been that desperate to win game #125 in a row at the expense of their best player tearing his hammy in half would they?

The comp is fairly even except for Mayne and Noosa. They need to go up a grade. Pretty simple. I think at least one of the coast sides needs to be up a grade so the likes of Moloney, copeland, Dzufer etc can live on the coast and still play at a higher grade.

Aspley struggles to get the better players because the money just isn't there because they arnt the top side (NEAFL). They have definitely improved though and so has Moreton Bay. Should be a cracker this weekend..

Neither cope land or dzufer live on the coast anyway

Faulkners movement looked fine throughout the game - his own words post game 'no excuses'. He's allowed to have a quiet day, with a strong opponent and supply from the midfield under pressure all contributed.

Big ups to Maroochydore on their win over Mayne. By the sounds of it Mayne took it graciously. Sounds like it's going to be a good finals series this year.

Wasn't having a go at Luke, Bud63. Just stating that i'm sure his hammy would have been fine no matter how long ago he strained it. He's a great footballer, and a smart guy and vital to Mayne's success. There is no way he would have played with a soft tissue injury if it wasn't good I would have thought.

I know you weren't having a go at Luke, I was agreeing with you. On this weeks game, I wouldn't want to be Noosa's fullback, actually Noosa fullstop as Faulkner and Mayne will be up and about looking for a big win.

It will be a cracking game you would think - Noosa at home, don't think they have been playing all that well in recent weeks, Moloney could be injured again. Both sides would be desperate to win. Like to be a fly on the wall at that one...
