There was no change of committee! The President from last season stood down and the two Vice Presidents took over. It has pretty well been the same committee out there for the last 10 years. I don't think the decision to sack him was based on performance, but the culture the he was trying in force on the club!

That and a increasing amount of footballers, netballers, supporters and sponsors were walking out on the club because of the way he conducted himself!

You sound like you know a bit about what's been going on 50ontherun. How has the playing group responded to what's happened? Has the footy club got a plan going forward?

I am not directly involved with club I actually follow KSC due to my kids playing there. But I live in the valley and have many good friends who are involved DMB. I think they are looking forward to getting through the season as best they can. They have a strong committee who do an amazing job with everything off the field. I think they just want to make a fresh start.

The club must have been happy with Armond to appoint him for a 3rd year. Can anyone anyone confirm if he was the reason for so many departures in the off season or are people now assuming that?

My bad. Not a change in committee, but a change of positions within the committee. Regarding 'the culture that he was trying to in force on the club', what!!??, so a culture of hard work, honesty and ensuring that everyone is doing their job properly? Gee, that's not a culture that you want at your club at all, is it?
And yes, I am a player at DMB and have been for quite a few years. The culture that he was trying to enforce on the club is exactly what we got him here for and is what we needed as a club. I know by talking to the other players, we have stuck around for each other and not for those in charge. Watch this space for the departures that will come at the end of the season.

Who?? Like I said I'm not involved in the footy club. But if you say that you speak for the players you better tell us who you are. Because what I here is that the players are "excited" that Armond is gone. Is this not true? If not then the players should speak out in defence of their coach!
 
So, if the Contract is terminated do the Club pay out his Contract as they do in the AFL? I'm no expert but I know if it was me I'd be asking for the full amount!
 
After an undermanned TDFL got smashed in the interleague, why arnt players playing? Or why aren't teams nominating players?
Is it because interleague is dead, or would a more favourable draw be more inviting for players?
So
What would be the TDFL's best 21?

i think it's fair to say the Riverina is a rung or two above the TDFL. I think a match up against the Farrar would've been a lot fairer. Maybe the league can introduce match payments.:D
 
The league only has them self to blame 16 games straight if you play interleague from the last bye to finals, if the league is serious about the best players playing they will need to have a good look at the draw and make a bye 3-5 weeks out from finals. The league wants what is in there best interest for the league to improve its ranking but the players need to look out for themselves because the league clearly isn't

It used to be held on the June long weekend (which now has a competition round scheduled), but got moved to align with the weekend O & M (& the other stronger leagues) have theirs. I think the general standard of TDFL footy has been quite strong the last few years, but I've always had the impression Riverina was comfortably stronger. So Saturday's result doesn't suprise me. I don't think interleague is dead by any means, but there will always be players that would prefer to recover from niggling injuries or take the opportunity to go on a holiday. There's nothing anybody can do to stop that. While I'm sure representing any league would be a great honor, a one off game like that will never be as important as a game for 4 premiership points
