Hey toxic, what are your thoughts on Taylor Walker priced awkwardly at $430,300?

Proven SC scorer (ave. 100 in '12 and 80 once returning from his ACL last year).

Seriously considering it on the back of it;

a) being the new Adelaide Captain
b) the main focal point of the Adelaide forward line
c) a proven SC scorer
d) in a side searching for finals football

Can get Dane Swan for 34k more or Tom Mitchell for 25k less.

Better options available at that price imo

How is having 1 year at 100+ (barely,100.2 ) = a proven SC scorer? ???

A bloke on the decline or a bloke not set in his sides best 22?

Such as?

A few articles ive been reading recently from past winners/succesful coaches have mentioned avoiding KPP's but going with your gut on players you think will do well.. I get this unwavering feeling that Taylor Walker will do well this year.

To be fair, i did mention ave. 80 last year upon returning from his knee injury. He did well to average that and seems like the type of player to thrive with the added responsibility of the captaincy.

Swan is a better option than Walker

Well Swan is up to you whether you back him to rebound from his shocker last season. Mitchell will likely be in the 22 most weeks IMO.
I've lived by the 'Franklin is the only KPF I'll pick' rule for a while and it seems to work
Got on Tex and Kennedy when they were cheap as and returning from injury but otherwise I generally am the same.

Walker is the type that will give you 120 one week then follow it up with a few 50s and 60s after that. I am staying away from KPP as they fluctuate too much with their scoring

In 2012 (his dominant year) he scored 11 hundred with another 3 scores of 90 plus.

Ill agree that he wont give you 92 each week but he could end up one of the best forwards in SC this year.

As for the coleman medal, $17.00 at the TAB is a steal IMHO.

Devon Smith anyone? Averaged 98 from round 10 onwards last year. No reason he cant top 100 this season. Not many people will have him either.

I'm considering him but Swan is better value at F3 IMO

jjk anyone? very much underpriced

Same as Tex, only pick KPFs if they can roam the ground a la buddy and Roo. Otherwise you are relying on a bag of goals to get good SC scores.

Comes with a price tag to match. Makes him a awkward selection.

Or when Ruff falls to ~430k during the season, ;)

If you can 'time' it right, where having a KPF is benefical is when you have the VC on them from an early game & they go bang and get you a 150+ for the C loophole. :D

Doesn't always come off like that though,
