Fact is we wont use your 2nd pick so your basically offering nothing at all , so it will be 1st rounder or a player we need.
Honest question... Why wouldn't you use our second round pick?? Harley's value aside, wouldn't all teams use at least their first and second picks in the draft?

I think we are banking on having multiple first round picks, and we have an end of first round compensation pick.. Shouldn't need to use late picks

we have pick 3. likely to get pick 10 from power for dixon. also have our second rounder, plus an end of r1 compo pick. 4 picks inside the top 22. your second round is in the 30's. can't see us using it besides using it in a trade.

Also likely to be bumped to mid 40s after compo picks and academy picks.

Righto, thanks for that. Definitely a conundrum then. For my 5c then I can't see freo getting hold of a better pick, other than what we are allegedly using for McCarthy, so will be interesting to see if any players are on the table.
Tend to agree with the notion that you have already sacked bennell for all intents, doubt you will go back on that.
I don't think freo are screwing you FWIW, just the way this has turned out. Fortunate for us, on this occasion but we have been on the rough end of the pineapple many a time. I don't think any club would be volunteering anything they didn't have to for any trade..

Edit - still fairly new to BF, will take it back to freo board if you don't want to discuss..

The Adelaide board going into a semi meltdown reguarding the Gorringe news , i cant say i blame them.
I highly doubt we'd touch him with a 10 foot barge pole to be honest. We have a great number 1 ruck in Sam Jacobs, reasonable depth in Luke Lowden and a highly promising youngster in Riley O'Brien. We're good for rucks.

I've seen Moore being thrown around in multiple trade proposals on BF, as well as his name being mentioned on Trade Radio yesterday, but I know nothing about how he plays (or why he seems to struggle getting a game).

He's 24, a former pick 9 in the 2009 draft, a midfielder, and has only 55 games since 2010.

Can someone fill me in? Is it a Hallahan situation where he's got the goods but the players in Port's current midfield are just too good? Or is he a spud?
He sits just out of our 22 but our midfield is pretty strong. Unfortunately for Moore he was suspended for 3 games by the SANFL for speaking to an umpire so missed his chance to replace Ollie Wines when Ollie was injured (the timing of the suspension, and the length was crap. Typical SANFL). Moore would be the natural replacement for Ollie. Big bodied midfielder, plays well in SANFL but had limited opportunities in AFL and didn't take his opportunities when they were eventually presented. I would be sorry to see him go, he's a top bloke and was pick 9 in the draft but maybe an opportunity elsewhere would see his best footy. Pick 10 plus him would be very generous. IMO pick 10 is about right. Port are fair and don't try to screw others over usually. Will be interesting to see the outcome of this trade.

North are trying to steal Howe :(

North seem to be going for anyone and everyone.

North Melbourne has made a significant bid to lure Melbourne high-flyer Jeremy Howe to the club, according to Channel Seven.

It's been reported that senior coach Brad Scott and football boss Geoff Walsh have led the charge to try and get Howe to Arden street.

As reported by AFL.com.au on Friday, Howe's manager Ben Niall said the Demon was considering offers from Gold Coast and two rival Melbourne clubs.

Howe is expected to make a decision by the middle of this week.

Is it just me or are others hoping we pull the rug out from under Freo so we can watch them do the "what ifs" for the next few years as their Premiership window shuts.
I just hope that if we get screwed over with Harley that he ****s up in his first few months there to make it worth the loss.

After a bit of sleuthing, North are willing to pay more than other clubs but they're wanting him to be a defender - which Howe doesn't want to do. He wants to be a forward.

I'm still pretty confident he'll be a Sun.

Potential 3 way deal right there
Good for the Suns, but shit for Freo. Clubs drafting these little campaigners who agree to play anywhere in Australia are constantly getting ****ed over because they're 'home sick'. What a joke.

How long is this shit going to go on for before the AFL comes in and says 'hold on, what the ****? let's do something here'.

Latest on Howe from AFL.COM

North Melbourne has sounded out Melbourne utility Jeremy Howe about a possible shift to the Kangaroos but Gold Coast remains the frontrunner for his services.

AFL.com.au understands the uncontracted high-flyer attracted interest from North as the likelihood of him departing the Demons grew.

The 25-year-old played his 100th game with Melbourne in the final round but he has played in just 22 wins since making his debut in round 11, 2011.

The Suns made a presentation to him last week and are understood to be very keen on him joining the fledgling club, with a role as a mobile forward alongside Tom Lynch likely to suit Howe.

They are also likely to be in a better position to get a deal done quickly with the Demons.

Melbourne hold pick No.6 and the Suns have pick No.3 and potentially pick No.10 if they trade Charlie Dixon to Port Adelaide. They might be able to shuffle picks in any deal involving Howe.

On Friday, Howe's manager Ben Niall indicated on trade radio Howe was more likely to leave the Demons than stay.

He is expected to make a decision when he returns from Bali this week.
