Stan Wright winner of the 2015 Jack Clarke Medal for best and fairest in the colts competition
Ye can play ok but have u watched him not a team player kicks to himself in the kick outs and handballs to other players but always wants it back.
Good plan if you want stats of 45 per game. To be honest needs to work on attitude seems to get aggressive when things don't go his way.

Also heard he is a face book bully not AFL Material thats for sure

I haven't lived in WA for a while, but I knew Peter Bennett as a child.
wonderful kid from a brilliant family.
he was being mentioned a while ago, but seems to have fallen off the radar?
any news about him?
I'd love to see such a great kid get a go.

Is it fair to say that Ah Chee is the only WA kid likely to be picked in the top 20?

What is the consensus in terms of the best of the rest?

Greg Clark's stocks seem to have fallen a bit, but I would still expect him to go around pick 30.

Colts team of the year? Who should make it?

East Perth Colts this year? Was one of the worst years, bad coaching has lead some of the standout boys leaving. Namely Della Franca and Hadden.
These country kids didn't get enough support from club or coaches. Della Franca left and played league for Bunbury, had a really good run with them playing ruck and full forward was best player a number of times and has shown some real talent. Hadden went home and played for his old club and had a good end of season. As for the rest you could name Wright but a really selfish player, DeCampo had some really good games, maybe Dobson is another who had a good season but no other standouts.
East Perth is going to have to a lot more if they want to develop their talent, too old school no management of players or forward thinking and as far as country kids, there is not going to be any, no support what so ever.

C Hincliffee from west perth will have to decide between cricket or football
Mitch Antonio kicked another 4 goals on the weekend.

I've umpired Hinchcliffe in 1st Grade WA Premier cricket, good player and obviously good at footy. Nice guy too. Hope he does well.

I spoke with Andrew Lockyer at the weekend who was the WA 18's coach. He thinks Hinchy would be a very outside chance of getting drafted and only as a late rookie pick.

Watched his team this year! Seems a tad harsh when you consider the options available. Aggression was not noticed. Any thoughts on the announced colts team of the year??

Good to see WA footy being pro active:

Being watching Greg Clark in 2016, can he make it?

Really? It's the complete opposite to proactive since there's been a big issue with the competitiveness of our state 18's for a number of years now. Too many players have come through looking the goods as 17 year olds only for their stocks to drop enormously over the course of their draft year. Whilst cases of this happen in every state, it seems to be especially prevalent in WA.

Clark fits the above description perfectly. I don't think he'd look out of place at all on an AFL list, but his lack of progress this year has given clubs reason to question how his game would translate to AFL level. It's harsh as there are many instances of lesser proven players being looked on favourably by clubs in the draft, but it's up to him to prove them wrong. Unlike other unfortunate guys like Nelson, Clark has the size and so called 'big bodied midfielder protoype' build to get clubs interested very quickly if he does start to dominate the WAFL seniors so I think there is a good chance he'll end up getting there.

Sounds like the intent is to mimic the TAC Cup and academies but run by the WAFL:

He wants to ensure the best young athletes are identified by their local WAFL clubs and then drill down to discover the needs of those players once they begin to reach the schoolboys, under-16 and under-18 level.

Jones said delivering a consistent message across all levels of football was imperative.

If so this is a pretty well proven approach so hopefully they remain committed to it.

Agree 100% with the bad coaching but couldnt disagree more with the rest. East Perth do a lot more work in their country zone than most clubs and it shows by how many country kids graduate to their league team.

Any thoughts from you guys who watch a bit of WAFL Colts on Brad Lynch from Swan Districts?

couldnt agree more. clark had dominated colts for a while now, so much so he started playing reserves and senior footy this year with very little to no time in the colts. other blokes were drafted just on colts form...

something is a miss, i see the concerns in his game but others have similar traits. i suspect they stuffed him around, playing him in too many roles. instead of homing in on his strengths

Clark has the same holes in his game that he had two years ago. He's poor by foot, easily shifted off the line of the ball in stoppages and weak overhead for someone of his height. He's got a lot of potential but he'll benefit from cutting his teeth at WAFL level and going the hard yards fixing the defects in his game.
