Was hoping Treadwell slipped a little more, but not to be...

Rd1, Pick 24: Cincinnati Bengals select...

WR Josh Doctson, TCU 6'2 202

Bengals have a good defense, and most of the pieces on offense, but that top tier #2 WR has eluded them for a few years. It's been a while since Johnson/Houshmanzadeh, and even longer since Pickens/Scott, but a Green/Doctson combo will be sure to trouble many defenses for a few years at least. The defections of Jones and Sanu almost guarantee a WR is taken here, a new injection of talent to the offenses could prove wonderous. With Green needing to be doubled, and Eifert coming on last season, the new Bengals #2 should see plenty of single coverages, and plenty of looks from Dalton with a chance to make an impact.

Woodson

With the 26th pick in the 2016 Draft, the Seattle Seahawks select, Leonard Floyd, OLB, Georgia.

floyd-422.jpg

This was tough to choose between offensive line and defensive line with the first pick. If Conklin was still on the board I may well have gone offence. Coming into the draft, a lot of mocks had the Seahawks going defence which I scoffed at as our glaring weakness is on the offensive line. Losing Okung, Bailey and Sweezy only exacerbated the problem. However, losing Irvin and Mebane is too big a hole to ignore from our shallow defensive line stocks.

I think Floyd’s athletic ability is a tad underrated running a 4.6 in the 40 yard as well as being a top performer in the vertical and broad jump. His one glaring weakness is his size but get him some time in the weight room and he should bulk up. Floyd has a lot of raw potential and has the attributes to become a very proficient pass rusher as well as solid in man-to-man coverage.

As a Georgia fan I wanted Floyd to still be available at 26 and I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes somewhere in the late teens-early 20s in the real thing.

GreyWind and the Packers are up.

With the 27th Pick the Green Bay Packer select; Andrew Billings, NT, Baylor

hi-res-1e44ef3d69ce6578bd9adea86c8afcb5_crop_north.jpg

With B.J. Raji taking a hiatus from the NFL the Packers look to strengthen their offensive line with Mike Daniels being the only proven performer of the bunch. Former 1st round pick Datone Jones hasn't progressed as quickly as everyone hoped, Mike Pennel is suspended for the first 4 games and Letroy Guion is JAG.

While a little raw he has all the tools to become a fine NT in the Packer system. Also quite young so going to an organisation like the Packers will help immensely.

With the 28th pick the Kansas City Chiefs select: Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor

CoreyColeman.jpg

A fitting photo, Coleman has the speed to light up any defense in the NFL

Height: 5"11
Weight: 190
Honours: Two time all american, 2015 Biletnikoff Award winner as top receiver in college football

Combine results:

40.5 standing vertical (3rd among WR's)
10"9 standing broad jump (4th among WR's)
17 reps in the bench test (5th among WR's)

Pro Day:

Ran a lightning 4.32 40 yd dash on his pro day which puts him equal first on combine times with any WR

NFL Comparison: A mix of Steve Smith/Brandon Cooks/Tavon Austin

My favourite player on offense in the draft, Coleman is a highlights package on wheels, very very fast wheels. Drafting for the Chiefs i had in mind CB and OL as positions of need but i simply couldnt pass on Coleman slipping this far as he is my #1 WR in the draft. Keeping in mind that noodle arm Smith's dink and dunk style doesnt suit every WR, i would be hard pressed to draft any other WR here but Coleman is a different beast.
YAC is his forte, line him up out wide and throw him a screen pass and watch him go to work, move him into the slot and let him fly horizontally, start him in the backfield or run him on a reverse, you get my drift, its pick your poison. That's not to say he cant play as a traditional WR, good hands, strength and leap (see combine results above) make him a potential match up nightmare for a variety of corners. The knock on him is his size but with his abilty to create separation with speed and a variety of moves along with great hands and the ability to make catches that belie his size i dont see it as a bigger problem as others might.

I also suspect the Chiefs would use him on special teams as a return man, it would be fun to watch.

Maclin, Charles, Kelce and Coleman.... lethal

Not sure what is up with Woodson, but I'm going to allocate Eli Apple - CB - Ohio State University to the Steelers.

Steelers select with pick #25: WILLIAM JACKSON III , CB, HOUSTON

With the next best CB available. WIlliam Jackson III has the tools to compete as a starter from his rookie season.

CJUR9KtUYAAiIcC.jpg

Boxes ticked:
• Size - Long frame, 6'0", 198lbs with room to add weight
• Speed - Good long speed 4.37 at 40 yard dash / combine numbers
• Fluid Hips - Smooth in transition
• Technique - Good backpedal, plant and drive
• Plays Ball - Excellent finding, tracking passes
• Route Recognition - Understands and quickly diagnoses routes
• Disciplined - Not fooled by crossers, picks
• Aggressive - Confident, likes to hit
• Catch Point - Physical, challenges WRs

Jackson's talent was recognized going into his junior year, appearing on watch lists for the Thorpe, Nagurski and Bednarik awards. He didn't disappoint, grabbing 5 interceptions — returning two for touchdowns — and leading all FBS players with 23 passes defended. He finished his career by being named the defensive MVP in a Peach Bowl win over Florida State and earning all-conference honours.

You're Up drd23 for Bruce's Cardinals.

With the 29th Pick, the Arizona Cardinals select Robert Nkemdiche, DT Ole Miss

GettyImages-454309812.jpg

Nkemdiche is arguably the most talented defensive lineman in this draft with an impressive blend of size, athleticism and strength. He's able to shoot gaps easily despite frequently facing double teams throughout his college career. Unfortunately his brain isn't the equal of his athletic abilities and he's found himself in trouble more than once in the past season (arrested for marijuana possession, falling out of windows) and that is the reason he would be available here.

Nkemdiche's All-Pro potential, combined with the Cards need to get younger and better on the defensive line makes him the pick here. He has bust potential given his character concerns, but that caused the Cards to overlook talent in the past.

Bucking Beads and the Panthers are up

With the 30th Pick, The Carolina Panthers select Kevin Dodd, DE Clemson

I was hoping Dodd would make it to us at pick 30 and here he is.

The arrow is pointed up for Dodd who finished the season with a streak of five consecutive games with a sack. Dodd already looks the part of an NFL defensive end and his desire to make plays coupled with his physical traits and talent should have him shooting up draft boards. His lack of college snaps could preclude him from being "pro ready", but his instincts and football intelligence should expedite the learning process.

Trade announcement -

San Diego trades PIck 35 and a 5th round pick to Cleveland for pick 32

With the 32nd pick in the 2016 draft, the San Diego chargers select;

Cody Whitehair - Offensive Guard/Tackle, Kansas State

upload_2016-3-18_21-54-16.jpeg

San Diego needs a long term plan to improve their offensive line, drafting the 4 year starter out of Kansas state immediately starts that.

Whitehair is the best interior lineman to come out of a draft since Zach Martin of the cowboys. He can play all 5 positions on the line but is best suited to play guard, is very strong.
This pick should assist the development of Melvin INgram and Phillip rivers time in the pocket.

Is almost always in complete control of his body thanks to outstanding core strength and balance. Extremely efficient with his movements after the snap. Has played both guard and both tackle spots and has roster value at all five positions. Mirrors with a wide, stout base and has great feel for keeping defender squared up throughout the rep. Confident, composed and competitive. Smooth and athletic when asked to pull and has radar to find target and strike accurate blow. Makes up for shorter arms with massive hands that function as vise grips. Consistent with hand placement and extremely sticky blocker. Combines hand strength and balance to snatch and control a defender until the whistle blows. Can sink hips at contact and should be able to stalemate bigger players across from him. Exceptional body control and core strength allows him to successfully redirect defenders who get to his edge

33. Tennessee Titans
OLB Shilique Calhoun, 6'4 249

Too small to be an NFL Defensive End, I'd take a flyer on this pass rusher to learn behind Orakpo and Morgan. And a team can never have enough pass rushers. Has a habit of standing up at the LOS anyway, so may not be all too foreign to switch to OLB. Nothing much in regards to power moves, but has speed to worry tackles, and good feet.

Pick 35 Cleveland Browns - Eli Apple (6'1", 199lbs) CB from Ohio State

19859551-mmmain.jpg

So many positions of need for the Browns, it's probably best just to stick to best available. In the real thing, I expect we would have traded Joe Thomas by now, so I could have picked Apple with the pick we received for him. And then taken the other player I was considering here, who I think is a quality left tackle prospect. But that trade hasn't happened yet, so...

I think our new fancy analytics department will have a high opinion of the likes of Gilbert, Desir and Ifo - so I was a little bit torn about using a high pick on another cornerback. But we sucked without Haden last year, so you can never have enough quality corners. It would also mean we can get rid of Tramon Williams, no place for ageing players in our squad. But I like Apple, and he should slot in nicely opposite Haden - he has the size, and the ability to both defend the pass and run. I like corners who are aggressive when it comes to interceptions too, have to make the most of all your chances.

With the 36th pick, the Baltimore Ravens select Jason Spriggs OT Indiana

1434320035288

With proptypical size (6'6"; 301lbs; 34 1/8" arm length) and great athleticism for a OT prospect, Spriggs will help fill a massive need at LT (either this season or next) with the unreliable Monroe currently slated to start there.

He shows good balance and lateral movement when pass blocking and uses his athleticism well when pulling or getting to the second level. The one major knock on him according to some is a lack of upper body strength in the run game.

With the 37th pick San Fransisco 49ers select - Xavien Howard, CB, Baylor

pl0dVvN6j

With so many needs on the 49ers, could of gone in multiple directions with this pick, but have decided to add some talent to the secondary and help out the CB stocks.

An All-Big 12 selection in 2015, Howard lead the Bears in pass breakups and interceptions, to go with 42 tackles for the year. At 6'2 and 200+ lbs, Howard has good size for the position & is a physical corner. Howard is pretty good in man to man coverage, and has active hands to go with his size.

Howard can be a little bit over physical sometimes, but we like his aggressive nature and hopefully over time he'll learn when the right time to use his physicality.

With the 38th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft the Jacksonville Jaguars select

Joshua Garnett, OG Stanford
460x.jpg

Yet another of the NFL Ready OL players to come out of Stanford. While Jacksonville are more in need of a OT i feel they could play Garnett anywhere on the OL and they could try and move someone else outside. With some of the WildCaff plays Garnett snapped the ball as the LG, and is a great pulling guard with good footwork which was used often at Stanford with all the pulling guard plays. He has can pull either side with Stanford's playbook having LG pulling to the right on some plays. Garnett can also get to the second level to seal LB blocks. Garnett was an All American and won the 2015 Outland Trophy for the nations best interior Linemen on either side of the ball.

I was tossing up between OL and DE, i feel i can still get a good DE in the 3rd round. and have my eye on someone who i hope will drop to early R3.

TennisPlayerAndy and the Bucs are now on the clock

I'm gonna go right here with a pick that Reese has no chance of making because he's hedging his bet on players that will make a year one impact or else he'll get fired.

It isn't going to happen, but I absolutely hate the surrounding value at all other positions of need for the Giants.

Pick 40
Jaylon Smith, LB, Notre Dame Double Irish

Write up laterrrrrr

Blacky

With pick 41 the Chicago Bears select

Kenny Clark - DT - UCLA

Not a perfect scheme fit or a position of need, but I think he is a supreme talent.

I actually wanted Spriggs and if I was paying more attention I probably would have tried to move up

Buzzasto DaSilva

With pick 42, the Miami Dolphins select- Austin Hooper, Stanford.

usa-today-9011676.0.jpg

A left-field pick, but every time I have seen him play- I have loved his involvement and he has stood-out to me. I don't think the Dolphins skilled-position players are as good as a lot of people are saying and I think that a ILB will slide that I rate very highly. Maybe not one for the experts, but he nailed the "eye-test" and I like doing these things based on what I see, rather than just mock-drafts and big boards.

Ram-Man

With Pick 43 of the Bigfooty mock draft the

LOS ANGELES RAMS select ..

Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi

1f117fa3d6fa1a0fb1fa64ecc8e255bb.jpg

Has developed into a good leader after initially serving as running complement to pocket passer Tyler Russell for two seasons, Prescott emerged as one of the SEC's most dangerous dual-threat quarterbacks with the mobility and size to power through would-be tacklers, along with the arm talent to push the ball downfield through the air.

He needs to improve his consistency and ball placement, but in the right system ... which the Rams probably aren't ... he could have a future at the NFL level.

Prescott owns 38 school records (15 career) and was a two-time All-American, two-time first-team All-SEC in 2014 and '15 after winning MVP of the 2013 Liberty Bowl.

Tim Tebow is the only SEC player who had 60 TD passes, 40 TD runs, 8,500 yards passing and 2,000 rushing yards. Head coach Dan Mullen -- who coached Tebow -- called Prescott the best player he ever coached, praised his leadership and community leaders lauded his involvement and volunteerism while at Mississippi State.

Although the Tebow comparisons are often overused, Prescott has similar size, skill set, composure and leadership as the former first-round pick.

With the 44th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select Su'a Cravens, safety, USC.

0ap3000000602776.jpg

The Raiders need a hybrid linebacker/safety given that Taylor Mays has left the Raiders to sign with the Bengals in free agency. Cravens is the perfect tweener. He's not a fit in every defense by any means, but he fits Norton Jr's scheme to a fault. Cravens additionally gives the added dimension of being able to blitz from the 3rd level of D. Given his versatility, this will allow Norton Jr to dial up plenty of exotic blitzes to help Khalil Mack, Bruce Irvin and co get to the QB.

Ram-Man you're up, son.

With Pick 45 in the Bigfooty 2016 NFL Mockdraft the

LOS ANGELES RAMS Select

Jeremy Cash , SS , Duke

2eb4dbcc0c96f0ce01288c91498a0644.jpg

STRENGTHS
Very big and very physical.

33 of his 98 tackles in 2015 coming for gains of two yards or less.

Finished with 326 tackles and seven forced fumbles over last three years. Long arms and big hands for the position.

Looks like a small linebacker on the hoof. Comes diving off the edge to upend running backs before they hit the crease. Plays with big closing burst when he smells blood. Runs through targets with force and can separate receivers from the catch. Brings the fight to FBs and move TEs who try to come at him. Rabid run-supporter when he's in attack mode.

He has many strings to his bow .. like him. Thought about another WR however imo best SS in draft.
