GEELONG 31
YARRA VALLEY 2
ORMOND 1
OM 22
FRIARS 7

This is the most interesting tipping round for some time. Monds with a massive injury list, but the kids keep having a crack.

Making a late run with YV and Friars, Bedders.:D

Monders by 1 point. I'm starting to worry.

Thanks for setting the record straight.
Let's take a poll.
Who would the other posters prefer to see disappear from here?
Vote: "Redheads are super beings" for sauce admirer to stay.
OR
Vote: "Carlton are shite" for VAFA Spectator to stay
We all know Carlton are shite ATM, so I stay :p

Great to say Mal Michael is named on the VAFA website in the initial squad of 25 to take on Kew. After many false starts, I can't wait for the AFL legends game to see the big man play again. Please stop teasing us Ormond!

Old Geelong v St Marys Salesian Close one here. Tempted to o for the Como crew.
Yarra Valley v Bulleen Temp. Would not be surprised if it went the other way
Old Mentonians v NOBS Another cracking match.
Whitefriars v Prahran. Just a little more firepower in the two blues attack.
Ormond v Kew Are they playing this week? How time flies. Much awaited clash. But it's only the game in September that counts. Ok,Kew. (there I said it)

Old Geelong over St.Marys: 20 points
Bulleen/Temp over Yarra Valley: 15 points
NOBs/St Pats over Old Mentonians: 8 points
Prahran over Whitefiars: 24 points
Kew over Ormond: 3 points

Round 10:

OG v SMS - Old Geelong is a formidable force and I expect them to flex their muscle against St Marys, who need another year of development to really push the very best Div 1 sides. OGGS by 20.
YV v BT - Bulleen showed a lot of heart last week against St Marys after quarter time and with big KC playing tremendous footy, they'll be too potent for Yarra who are in dire straits. Bulleen by 28.
Ormond v Kew - Safety first would have been a tip for the outstanding Ormond outfit but I think Kew is ready. They've got a strong list and they play well together. Will be a cracker but Kew to outlast by 2 points.
OM v NOBSPC - NOBS/St Pats played well against Prahran and look like they are regrouping for a crack at the spot in the 4 if SMS slip a couple of times. Too strong across the ground for OMs who lack depth from 16-22. NOBSPC by 17 points.
Whitefriars v Prahran Assumption - Too many injuries for Whitefriars who have shown a bit as a young side. Unfortunately they are in strife with their depth. Prahran is probably only playing for survival now, they'll finally win. PA by 26 points.

Old Geelong got up over a spirited St Mary's outfit by 29 points. In the end the margin didn't do SMS justice as they chucked everything at it and just got over-run.

OG kicked the first 4 in a hurry (and could have been up by 7 if not for a few costly misses) before SMS wrestled the momentum by winning the contested ball in midfield and using the ball much better going forward than OG, who were spraying it everywhere. SMS defence structured up well and kept OG forwards (without Wood again) quiet between half-way through the 1st quarter until 3 quarter time. At one stage SMS were about 3 goals up and there would have been a bit of doubt in OG minds. Last quarter was all OG who just ran all over SMS in the end.

Massive win by the KEW Bears against Ormond. Injuries in the last few weeks and in today's game yet we were able to comprehensively beat Ormond. Kew were fitter and had better skills than Ormond who simply weren't up to it. Looking forward to the next clash on Kew turf!

A really absorbing contest at Friar Park with both teams defences working well to repel the numerous inside 50s until three quarter time.

Then we stopped.

Again.

PAFC played all over us in the last and proved they were the best 9th placed team (not now) in the VAFA.

BT have sent Yarra tumbling and now it's a race in 3 to avoid relegation. Reckon 6 wins may still see a team relegated this year

Um, not really. FYI the club annual ball had me and my club mates on the juice last weekend, so I was always going to give the open bar a nudge.

I didn't drink at all last night as I am studying for my final exam. Footy result was still pretty disappointing, though far more competitive than last Saturday.

Some real interesting results this weekend that give us an indication to how the ladder will finish up. It seems the top 4 is now settled, with only a major stuff up from St Marys allowing anyone in. Yarra Yalley are set relegation, and it seems that the final spot for relegation will be battled out by BT, Whitefriars, PA (3-7 with a % 101 says they've been unlucky) and OM's. Surprised to see that result from EE Gunn reserve, however it is the results in the latter part of the year which matter. Theory Penola going undefeated throughout the normal season last year only to fall the Willy at the final hurdle.

All the best with the final exam.
