Phil Stevens.... hahahahhaah Sholly....hahahahhah Cannizzo from the SFL has had the fixture for finals out for months ....I hear Bedford is building a fence at Ormond with the council ...Stop pinching Jase's lines gb!
The VAFA has made quite a few attempts to re-locate, going back to Phil Stevens times. They could never find an available suitable alternative location.
Nobody is goibg v to jump the fence with big Mal on security at EE GunnPhil Stevens.... hahahahhaah Sholly....hahahahhah Cannizzo from the SFL has had the fixture for finals out for months ....I hear Bedford is building a fence at Ormond with the council ...
Any danger of these well planned SFL finals not involving all-in brawls and sub standard suburban football?Phil Stevens.... hahahahhaah Sholly....hahahahhah Cannizzo from the SFL has had the fixture for finals out for months ....I hear Bedford is building a fence at Ormond with the council ...

Rooster do you know where the D Grade finals are going to be played in less 4 weeks? The SFL continue to provide a competition that allows all comers to participate, not a environment that is full of arrogance for its member clubs. Good luck to all of the non school boy clubs in the future as again it has been heard and commented about that the senior Exec believes that the VAFA is for old schoolboy clubs and district teams just make up the numbers... Nice. I have had a good day with the rod today..The SFL is not all bad HedgeFund. It does provide a pathway to mediocrity by allowing clubs who have become non-competitive in better standard competitions a place to go.
Dingley, Keysborough, Bentleigh and others who found the going a bit tough in other leagues are expected to be joined by Port Colts next year now that this once great club has fallen on difficult times.
God bless the SFL.

Rooter same excuses year in year out, it will surprise you because you have your head in the sand that outside the VAFA no one rates them as an Admin I talk to all the suppliers at least 3 times a year and more than 75% of the VAFA clubs including Ormond and even Bedford has been heard bagging the VAFA bigtime. Based upon experience not like your theoretical self can tell you they are overpaid and underachievers. But you jobbers just let them go on and take you for a ride, where is the overseas junket for the VAFA Exec this year Rooter?Looks like I hooked myself a giant mullet here! Was just pointing out to another poster that the SFL actually provides a great service and a place to go for battling, underperforming clubs. Obviously this hit a nerve wit h you.
A bit easier for a little ‘boutique' competition to organise finals for the couple of grades involved. Hopefully this season all 3 of your grand finals will actually be completed.
I’ll worry about finals venues in a few weeks’ time. For now I could not care less.
The Army the SFL have 7 councils to deal with not just a couple, from Port Philip all the way to Frankston. But you are right the VAFA get a lot of things wrong and get paid a fortune. It would be easy for the VAFA to announce finals venue's if it only have 3 or 4 divisions like other comps... and it would also be easy if they only had to deal with 1 or 2 local councils like other comps.. remember the VAFA has 7 senior sections with three of them having senior reseves and thirds.. then the VAFA has 5 under 19 sections plus a club18 section... all of this spread all over Melbourne and beyond... while the VAFA get heaps of stuff wrong they also have a very very tough job
Yes I agree VAFA requires a significant overhaul and a review of the costs and then the benefit to clubs. The volunteers as club level keep the VAFA together and they deserve better and as much as Rooter, AM, Bedford Beamsy and a couple of others on here have sand on the heads and hooks in lips some of them especially Bedford do an enormous amount of work at club level and without them who would know what would happen.Dont get me wrong the VAFA are in need of change ... they have too fee people doing to many jobs.. im not at all a fan of the way the office is structured. BUT that said the VAFA have some wonderful people and those wonderful people are what hold it together... not everyone at HQ is to blame for the VAFAs issues

Seems the self-proclaimed spokesperson for the SFL knows bugger all about his own competition as it’s actually more than 7. However only the one club from each of Port Phillip, Frankston, Boorondarra and Stonnington. Would suggest about two thirds of the SFL are contained within 3 council areas.
We might give the SLF more credit if the person who felt the constant need to get on the VAFA board to promote it had just a shred of knowledge and credibility.
Hedge it will be interesting to see the standard of D grade VAFA finals, the clever people over at VAFA HQ decided to change the name from D Grade to Division 1 due to the perception of "D Grade" but you cant change the fact that it is D Grade. I hear Derek Hine will be there to see if he can pick up a recruit for the pies oh wait on he will not be there as his boys left the VAFA particularly Ormond a few years ago......Any danger of these well planned SFL finals not involving all-in brawls and sub standard suburban football?
Hey Hedgey Is this the sort of stuff you might hear about that occurs at the SFL finals? oh no it is actually a comment by Bedford about some "goings on" at the VAFA.....Any danger of these well planned SFL finals not involving all-in brawls and sub standard suburban football?
Rooter and the SFL had the finals venues out 3 months ago.... I might throw you back and hook you again soon

"Mr.Florence was at it again, he's lucky that the MRP wasn't at it or he would miss a few. Great player, but he doesn't need to do some of the stuff he does"
No not comparing but clearly according to Bedford you also have a problem. Ask Bedford he reckons according to his post that it was a lot more than a bloke getting shirty.Surely, you're not comparing one player getting a little bit shirty to a GF that had to be called off due to a wild brawl which included spectators??
Rooter it is called being organised and ensuring that no other comp tries to get a look into the best facilities, and also meets the expectations of the clubs that prefer it that way,the host clubs can then start to plan for the finals series and round up all the volunteers etc, why don't you ask your clubs as well as the host clubs when they would like to be notified of finals venues I am sure it would be a resounding " earlier than the overpaid Execs at the VAFA tell us now...!!" you girls knocked on Claytons door didn't you. This is better than snapper season - wow wee..Even putting aside the obscene tender process that exists in the SFL, with all the possible variables and outside influences I would doubt that any organisation would be dumb enough to lock in September venues in May. What possible benefit is there in doing that?

Yes it is easier for the SFL I total agree but my point is that I think it was last year or perhaps 2013 the VAFA were telling clubs the week of finals game where they were playing because they were so disorganised. How difficult would be to lock in a venue for Premier a venue for Premier b the Prem C then D Grade etc. perhaps something like as has been mooted Princes Park for Premier, Sportscover for Prem B, Trev Barker for Prem C and lets say Box Hill/Dingley for D Grade. But they wait so long to do something so easy. So what I am saying is lock in the first 4 or 5 divisions earlier and then work on the other division after that. They should also consider triple headers ie: start the Premier unders off at 10am at Princes Parl/Ikon Park then the Reserves and then the Seniors that would save having to look for a venue specially for the Premier unders. Perhaps the second row competition of the unders could be the curtain raiser to the Reserves at the Premier B finals... just a thought..The triple headers work very well in most other comps come finals time.to be fair Perspective, the SFL only has the same 6 sides every year tending for Finals games (Ding, Chelt, Mord, Clay, Heatherton and Springy), and Dingley haven't hosted for a couple of years. Only 4 have to be picked, and this Seasons finals series has bearly changed from 2015.....and Springy has hosted the Div1 Finals about 6 of the last 7 seasons.....
