The FIXture is released on the 29th of October and its going to be "interesting" to see what sort of plan the AFL has in mind for reversing the current trend of Hawthorn winning the flag every year. :D

I'm predicting a two-pronged effort - not only a brutally hard fixture for the reigning B2B2B premiers (we're used to it by now) but also cushy runs for the clubs they think are most likely to challenge us from outside the 8 like Port, Geelong & Collingwood under the hope one of them can replicate West Coast's 2014 but go one better.
Richmond will also have a very nice fixture and a ton of friday night games, because the AFL likes money.

Oh and naturally Sydney will get the easiest run of any top 4 team, if that even needs to be said.

It don't matter.

We are still the best team in the league, although we may have come back to the pack a little by virtue of age and other teams' trade period, but the cushy draws some teams get is actually our advantage. It means you get very average teams taking up higher spots on the ladder meaning September essentially becomes easier for us.

Iirc, the league has now divided the comp into 3 groups of 6. That would mean we would play finishers 2-6 twice and finishers 7-18 once.
That makes 22 rounds.

Sydney not a top 4 team anymore haha

of course we should get a tough draw, we're the reigning premiers. That's the way it's supposed to work, no? Though with that said I reckon our fixture this year was semi decent.

All good in theory. Unless your Sydney where you play GWS and Brisbane twice a year regardless due to so called rivalries. It's called a FIXture for a reason.

Eagles twice and at the mcg not tassie.
Geelong, Adelaide, Richmond twice.
North twice once in Hobart.

Brisbane, port, freo, giants away.

Suns, Carlton, crows, saints at York park.

Dogs at docklands on a Friday night

Melbourne Sunday twilight at 'g

We'll get f****d, we always do, and as reigning 3-peaters, we need to.

The AFL will not want us to win 4 in a row.

They didn't want us to win 1 in a row

They didn't want us to win 2 in a row

They didn't want us to win 3 in a row

They don't want us to win 4 in a row

Game at the GABBA surely this season!

Been saying that for close to 8 years now I reckon!

AFL will probably dud the Brisbaners with a NAB Cup game in Cairns and if they're lucky a round 22 game at Metricon.

This seems accurate although I reckon we will only play the Crows once (away) and will have a home and away game against Sydney (MCG and ANZ) instead.
