GOAT? After just 3 years in the gig? A bit early to make definitive statements like that I think. Let's see him back it up for a couple years first. You could argue that he isn't even the best coach coaching right now(Pop) let alone greatest of all time. And how does the GOAT take a 73 win team and lose a series from 3-1 up? Not very GOAT like TBH.

Either way, there's no doubt that he's a great coach, but just because of GSW's great record doesn't mean he's immune from criticism. No doubt Curry and Thompson provide the best bang for buck efficiency on the offensive end, I'm just saying a few more offensive plays ran for Bogut wouldn't have hurt. So far this Olympics Bogut has more than proved just how much of a threat he can be on the offensive end if plays are ran for him. This is with hardly any preparation cause of his knee injury mind you.

Olympics no, but he skipped a fair few tournaments in the day and qualifiers.

The squads were named before the draft, so Ben wouldn't have been drafted or contracted at that point so its far too much of a financial risk for him.

Also seeing his good mate Dante go down with an ACL might have given him 2nd thoughts about Rio?

There's a heap for Simmons to lose as the number one pick and that would definitely include a large wad of cash. It's not a criticism though.

Philly already has Embiid doing not much so not sure why they would let Simmons play right now.

You're fine.

It's the norm for high international draft picks to not play in the olympics. Dragen Bender the 4th pick, is not playing for Croatia either.

Ben not playing was purely to get ready for the NBA, which is more of a priority at this stage of his career than the Olympics. He and his agent have said that he'll play with the Boomers in future.
