I saw you out of the corner of my eye today James North, as I posed for a few photos with some of our fine members and supporters.

I read all of your reports and I can categorically say that nobody should believe any of them. He was staring at his bloody phone the whole time.
I heard the gamer never got out of his car, & spent the afternoon playing Mario Kart.

I did like your hat today, Lethal. You are one relaxed cat these days.

Yeah, thanks very much JN!!
Appreciate the updates
Nick called to say he was annoyed at himself he cramped up and didn't finish the session
It's great as far as I'm concerned he stopped and got treatment rather than tearing a quad.

Saw it happen and he did the right thing.

You wouldn't have been anything other than utterly proud today - he's clearly the best runner at an AFL club and as I mentioned in one of the updates his skills have come a really long way in the few years he's been here. I think this year and next he'll be a very regular contributor in the midfield.

It certainly sounds a lot better than it has at this time of the year for the last few years!

Thanks James North

I hope that isn't my fault. Still plenty of missed targets (did say this a few times) and the domino effect of mistake after mistake in a chain of kicks occurred a bit.

However, the chat is good and the communication and camaraderie seems to be at a high level at this time. Still a long way to go, and today was a special event for a number of reasons.

Best sledge of the afternoon, Michael Close breaks off to jump on a bike. Someone yells out "all good closey, you can stay on the bike, we've got Schache now". Not sure he saw the funny side
This is effing gold. Close could take it 2 ways. Could see it as a challenge and be better for it. Or could turn out like a pussy and cry about it.

I don't think Mr Professional would be crying that much

It is with a great sense of relief that I have waded through the last few pages.

I was expecting two ruptured ACL's, a torn hammy here and there and at least one ridiculously unlikely impact injury

But it seems that the worst harm that has come to one of our players in our first training session is for Robbo to have gotten pissed off that he got a cramp in his quad!

Thank you Injury Gods.

May you continue to look favorably upon us for many more weeks and months.........................PLEASE!!!!!

Dont worry, there is still plenty of time for that this pre-season

The heat can only be a good thing, instead of going to Utah or somewhere we can stay here and get the same benefits.

On a completly different note, l hope some sessions they train in the evening when it is dewy. I remember in games this season we struggled at home when it was slippery.
Completely agree, although we have a lot less night games this years.

For some reason our skills have been ordinary for a few years in dewy conditions.

I'd like to think that this was why we struggled in those games, but the opposition (visiting from non-humid Melbourne winter) handled the ball a lot better than us.

Love the training commentary - thanks James.
Would love to hear more about the running drills and reps - I coach middle distance running and have a few AFL budding/obsessed teenagers. Always helpful to throw in details on what the pros are doing.

All I saw today was the equivalent of a beep test and the multi-lap running, but they were for different groups.

I think 3 reps for the 3km length?

Clearly this season everyone has different programs, so hard to keep an eye on the lot...
