(B.Rice (65), J.McGuinness (65))

MID: J.Macrae (110), G.Ablett (115), T.Rockliff (115), J.Selwood (110), T.Liberatore (100), B.Crouch (95), J.Gresham (80), B.Keays (80)
(S.Menegola (70), T.Phillips (FWD) (70))

RUCK: C.Sinclair (FWD) (85), M.Leuenberger (FWD) (85)
(D.Gorringe (60), S.Naismith (50))

FWD: L.Montagna (MID) (100), L.Dahlhaus (MID) (100), M.Barlow (MID) (105), C.Bird (MID) (85), C.Petracca (MID) (80), D.Wells (MID) (75)
(D.Cavka (MID) (70), S.Yarran (65))

Happy with this team at the moment, the only query is the first ruck position, and whether Cal Sinclair and Zac Smith can hold down no. 1 ruck roles. If Sinclair can, he'll be a starter, if not, I may go with a definite premo.

Your defence, midfield and forward line are pretty solid, I do agree that your ruck line could be a worry though. I would look at using the rest of your salary to bring I a "set and forget" ruck, Martin or Goldy if you can afford it, if not then Sauce or Mummy.

Thoughts? Really happy taking this team into the NAB :)

How have Fantasy chosen their pricing? Seems so incredibly haphazard, traditionally the No.1 Pick is the most expensive rookie but Darcy parish is 28k more expensive than Jacob Weitering, maybe they're doing some sort of positional system. Yet in the forward line, despite the fact Petracca missed an entire year he's priced at basically max price for a rookie forward, 238k, 6k more expensive than Weitering. It's always pick and choose with these pricks

Satisfactory v.1.0 (Pre Nab Cup, Pre Essendon Replacements)

DEFENDERS
H. Shaw ($532) K. Kolodjasnij ($464) E. Yeo ($436) [J. Weitering ($232)]
C. Dempsey ($301) A. Francis ($221) C. Byrne ($125) [C. Sheehan ($125)]

MIDFIELDERS
G. Ablett ($581) T. Rockliff ($579) B. Gibbs ($449) T. Liberatore ($443) [A. Morabito ($149)]
B. Crouch ($415) D. Zaharakis ($415) D. Parish ($260) R Mathieson ($158) [D. Gore ($125)]

RUCKS
S. Martin ($631) [D. Gorringe ($191)]
T. Goldstein ($630) [G. Nyuon ($125)]

FORWARDS
M. Barlow ($515) C. Wingard ($495) C. Bird ($321) [N. Kommer ($125)]
S. Kerridge ($299) D. Wells ($293) C. Petracca ($238) [S. Naismith ($125)]

That's the team as it stands, obviously pends NAB cup form and i'm struggling with the forward lines lack of power, really not happy with Wingard but only have 2k free. The structure otherwise is okay. Only 6 Round 1-Round23 premiums, 7 players i'm hoping can go all the way. 4 Mid Priced upgrade slots and 5 playing rookies. Really want to get behind the dual Ruck set and forget engine and hit the mid pricers in the midfield for consistent scores from the get go. This will all change when we see how the Essendon situation pans out, who picks up the slack etc. Should be a good year for Zaha. I think once the Essendon situation is known i can probably increase the rookie number from 5 up to roughly around 7 and fit another premium or two in.

Dempsey misses first 3 weeks FlowersByIrene due to suspension. So he won't get a price rise as a mid pricer until round 6...that's if he plays well too.

I'd drop Weitering or Francis to a cheaper rookie and do slight upgrades on Dempsey & Wingard if you're really not happy with him (got to go with your gut).

Not a big fan of Craig Bird either. Think he will be used in a forward tagging role, provide some experience down there.

Cheers mate, didnt know about Dempsey

Yeah rookies will definitely change and hopefully I can find some cheaper ones.

Will be very interested to see Bird's role over the NAB could be a steal if he plays a lot of midfield time.

Its basically Supercoach but purely statistically based - thats the only difference isnt it?

Unlike supercoach (which i am not partial to as I think its a bit silly) in Fantasy a kick is 3 points, and is always 3 points. Unlike supercoach it doesnt matter if that kick wins the game or went backwards or goes to another player its 3 points. Similarly with all other scoring. Its purely statistical. So a player lile Tom Rockliff is the premier player in Fantasy as opposed to players like Fyfe, Pendlebury who i think are more valued in Supercoach.

Otherwise its very similar. There are two trades every single week, so the name of the game is cash generation to the max. Cut the dead weight and bring the bolting horse in.

Can anyone think of any other differences can anyone else?

Thank

So for example, i'm not sure how it is in Supercoach, but whilst Pendles is a great option, he's probably behind Ablett, Rocky and Martin for the captaincy, Adams as a mid only seems to be a bit irrelevant, i think you can find better value at that price, everything else seems pretty spot on.

I didn't pick Pendles at all in SC actually I thought he was more of a fantasy player! But thanks for the tips!

Pendles is excellent. Is a guarenteed top 8 midfeilder every year. However he's a consistent 100-120 player and is therefore not often your best captain choice against players like Rockliff, Martin and Ablett who can often score 150+ scores.

Not that the captaincy matters much this far out from the season.

This is actually my first season in my memory that I havent started with Pendlebury. I think there's some value to be found in the midfield this year but i may go back to the safety of Pendles as the pre season progresses

Couldn't agree with you more! I just have Pendles as captain because I feel like in SuperCoach you get the high ceiling like from a Goldy or rocky or danger while with fantasy I will take the 125 every week, do you get a captain loophole in fantasy?

You get a captaincy loop hole only in weeks with Thursday night games, as there is a partial lockout until the friday night game. That's also different to Supercoach, there is no rolling lockout and teams are set at bouncedown on Friday
