Welcome to the rebirth of the greatest ever sporting competition in the world, ANAL.

Format

The 2018 edition of the Asia N' Africa League will be a head-to-head knock-out style tournament that operates under 'double elimination' rules - if you lose two games, you're eliminated. Simple. This should keep the tournament short while also giving entrants multiple opportunities to perform.

Prizes
First place wins a stubby holder and a coffee mug, both with their winning design printed on them.
Second place wins a stubby holder or a coffee mug with their design printed on it.
Third place wins toilet paper with their design printed on it.

Teams & How To Enter
To enter, all you need to do is
a) Post in this thread with your team location and
b) Submit your final entry to me via PM before January 15th 11:59PM Adelaide time.

You can create a team from any location within Africa or Asia, so long as nobody else in the thread has chosen the same location. Franchises that have previously competed in ANAL have preference of their location (regardless of when they post in this thread) if they wish to re-enter. For reference click here to see the teams and locations from the previous season.

Entry Requirements
You are to submit one image. This image will feature a uniform consisting of a jumper (front and back), shorts and socks. A club logo will also be required, as will sponsor logos. All artwork (including sponsor artwork) must be original, no exceptions.

I won't police this very heavily if at all, but the overall design including sponsors should have some relevance to your location, e.g. a Tanzanian team may feature a really large mountain because of Mt Kilimanjaro.

  • The league logo (for high-resolution PNG click here) can be recoloured. It must feature on the front of the jumper on the wearer's right-hand-side, as shown below.
  • Your club logo must be displayed prominently on your final entry image. It as much a part of your entry as the uniform itself. It can also be featured anywhere on the uniform if you please, though that is not necessary.
  • The apparel sponsor must be displayed on the front of the jumper and shorts on the wearer's left-hand-side, as shown below. It must also be displayed on the socks, in any position you wish.
  • The back sponsor can be the same as the apparel sponsor (if you wish) or a brand new one. In any case, it must be displayed below the back number.
  • The player number features on the back of the jumper and also on the front of the shorts on the wearer's RHS. Any font can be used but it must be the same both front and back.
  • The player name is optional but may feature above the number on the back of the jumper.
Here is a guide as to how it might look.

Edit: To clarify, all sponsor logos and apparel logos must be original artwork. Make up an imaginary company or brand and make a logo for it. The exception to this rule is fonts - you can use any font you wish.

Due date: 15th January 2018, 11:59PM Adelaide time.
Maximum two entries per person. If two entries are submitted, one must be from Asia and the other from Africa.

Will you do ANAL in 2018?

I remember attempting to restart this and getting locked by Dylan #dylansucks
Team Name: удивительная москва (Awesome Moscow)
Colours: Russian White, Russian Red, Russian Blue
Predicted Finish: Hopefully 3rd

This logo has 'Gaoji' rather than '2018' on it.
Thank you. I fixed this about a minute or two before you posted this but thank you anyway.

Can you clarify the bolded?

Can you clarify the bolded?
Make up your own brand/company logo and put it on your jumper.

You personally though could use El_Scorcho's Whitegoods for example, but it'd be cool if you did something Dar es Salaam related.

I assume this includes the apparel sponsor too?

I really don't want to make up sponsors with two comps to design for at the same time. Happy to go with the flow though.
It can be done simply if you don't have the time to do more. It only takes up a small space on the uniform anyway. Some simple geometric shapes thrown together would work, or even lazier still you could find a good font and just use plain text. On that note, I'll allow fonts as an exception to the original artwork rule. I'll amend the OP.

It's all good. It's a good opportunity to develop skills.

Amended OP clarifying the rules around original artwork and the use of fonts.

I strongly believe that we, as a community on FJGD, should reference all borrowed works on our designs. It should be the norm. Referencing is the ethical thing to do.

As such, fonts used in ANAL must be referenced on your entry image. In the corner or something, whenever you want. A simple "Back Logo font - 'Robot Delight' by Gordon McGregor" would suffice.

Additionally, there is to be a maximum two entries per person. If two entries are submitted, one must be from Asia and the other from Africa.

I think if a logo was a recolour (obviously not relevant here), then I'm with you, but referencing fonts used isn't something that you see on finished art anywhere in the real world, so I don't see why it is necessary for bigfooty fan art.

For example, on Fizz's sponsor above, everyone knows that he has used impact as his typeface and having to set up a bibliography in his guernsey presentation is clutter that no one cares about and just takes away from his artwork.
