A group of 6 clubs came together to encourage the VCFL to expand after the success of the first two seasons. The VCFL asked for submissions from these clubs with the league agreeing to 2 more added from next season. Further expansion may occur in the future but the league had no plans for it.

Founded in 1871, Benalla is one of the oldest football clubs in the country region. Keeping the Tricolour, the jumper will be Gold, While and Green giving a nod to past colours. The Bandicoots have a great record with 20 flags in the cabinet. Benalla Showgrounds will continue to be used as the training venue and for matchdays.

Echuca are the Chiefs of regional football with 16 premierships and a history dating back to 1874. This Murray River city will host games at Victoria Park Oval as well as training there. Echuca will be donning their Green jumper with White Triple Vees to show their position on the river as well as showing they are proudly Victorian.

The famous Royal and Gold Tripanel will continue to adorn Golden Square’s jumper. Now named for their bulldog, the Spikes were founded in 1932 and have added 18 premierships to the trophy cabinet. Wade Street Oval will still serve as the training and home ground.

With 13 flags adorning the clubroom’s walls, Sebastopol’s last taste of premiership success was in 1975. Taking flight this season, the Bronzewings want to make a statement to change their perception of being underachievers. With the Gold V on their Royal Blue jumper, the Sebs will continue to train and play at Marty Busch Oval.

South Bendigo is the only club to play every season continuously without recess. This shows the resolve of the club. The Ospreys will be wearing their eponymous Red and White Tripanel this year. Founded in 1893, South have prospered throughout their history clinching 24 flags in that time.

South Geelong come into the new season ready to put a sting into the competition. The Stingrays will be wearing a Green guernsey with an Orange Sash for its inaugural year. Training will be at McDonald Reserve whilst Kardinia Park will turn Green and Orange for matchdays.
