thank god ange is gone
i think the country will really miss ange. he tried to get players to play in an interesting way, and not just the usual sit back and hope for the best that others do. tried to make his players comfortable with the ball at his feet and improve them as footballers. i reckon for a country that is in the position we are that is all we can really ask for.

The rival teams should not be doing work for his case , regardless of what happened.
That is down to the Peruvian FA. His excuse might be BS . I remember when Rio Ferdinand got a long ban for not showing up to a drugs test and some suspected that was because he had done coke.

CAS said that he had no intention of cheating and thought that he was telling the truth yet put another 8 months on his ban which is why people are up and down about this situation.

I think everyone loved the positivity Ange brought to the team. He genuinely believed we could go to world tournaments and try to outplay teams which was very easy to get behind as a fan.

I think a lot of the criticism came about from when he took us from a back 4 which seemed to be working to a back 3 for the Iraq qualifier which a lot of the players seemed to struggle with and he could never really provide an answer as to why he changed other than saying that if teams don't evolve they go backwards.

I think FFA need to look at the World Cup in different respects to most countries.

It's as much of a shop window as any game some of our players play.

We need to field a balance between our best team possible and potentially our best team possible.

The only way some of our players will reach top quality potential is by playing in the best leagues.

If a 19 year old Daniel Arzani starts 2-3 games, he will get snapped up by a european team instantly, he will probably have the pick of 4-5 tbh that best suits his game time.

This will benefit the national side for the next 3 world cups, Asian cups etc.

We can't employ this across the board, but for touch and go decisions, it should be along these lines.

personally dont see where the goals come from and think we'll get absolutely destroyed out wide. ryan, mooy and jedinak in particular will need to have blinders to even be competitive. that's not enjoying them lose or anything like that, the squad that we're taking is just quite far behind as a unit the other sides. but i guess we will see how far bert has gotten them up to speed in the 2 friendlies in a comparatively very short amount of time.

I see some sort of Rogic celtic style wonder goal and parking the bus as our only chance tbh.

2 draws is achievable. Peru are gettable, as Jatz said, they didn't exactly thump NZ to qualify. We're some chance of a point Denmark if we shut down Eriksen like Romania and Montenegro did (teams that are about equal to the Socceroos) otherwise we'll be on the end of belting like Ireland were. Denmark still have decent players but they fall apart if Eriksen isn't dominating, he essentially pulls the strings for the team. As for France, I'm just hoping to be competitive and to not be completely thrashed.

Ireland only got belted because they had to open up and go for it. They got a draw in Denmark and we could too.

France the logical favourite to top the group.
Likely the three wins.
Then it’s simply the matches between the other three.
No reason we can’t snare a win or even two wins.
Who knows.
Even a win and two draws (France in first game ? Unlikely but they can start sluggish) might be enough.

Though you’d think, France and Denmark go through.

Hope we do.

Love to see Cahill score a goal so he joins an illustrious group of players who have scored at four World Cups.

This. His stubbornness to give up on a system that wasn't working was where he began to lose the public's support. Such a waste, was onto something good
