I don't see that but I've only seen his highlights

I'm basing that off seeing him up close at training. I did comment the first time I saw him that he looked a lot bigger than I thought he would be.

One would hope that Harley had got over his calf issues but clearly it's still bugging him and most likely will for the rest of his career. Such a shame.
Why would they even risk it? Last session before Xmas, why the **** send him out again after _anything_ calf related? That's insanity.

It's like Blakely mk II.

The boy that impressed me is Banfield. Not much has been written about him but he is a tall and big in the body mid . He could surprise with an upgrade and some senior games .

Winning Claremont's best and fairest as a teenager last year was certainly impressive and shows a level of maturity especially straight after the disappointment of missing out on selection in his draft year.

Good idea with such a big turnover to have some players who you know have played senior footy and are ready to go.

Will need to improve his footskills though Salim but yes, he's a very good size and moves extremely well
That'd be why he is a rookie pick. From what I have read he is very aware of it and disciplined enough to improve. I remember a poster on here as describing him as a deBoer type of player with better kicking, so that is interesting. I confess to being a deBoer fan. He certainly was never going to be in amongst the best players at the club but the integrity and commitment on and off the field he brought was valuable. Sure he falls into the "foot soldier" or "role player" kind of category, but that is ok.

That's great news.

Why should rookies be blocked from playing senior footy when they have the same commitments as the senior listed players?
It was because their salary had exclusions from the cap. There used to be a rule that allowed half the salary of a rookie deemed to be the nominated rookie to be excluded from the cap and allowed them to play senior games.

Now it is purely a contract length thing.

I'm not that interested in the technical clauses of rookie listed players. It's just good to see they can play

Outside my amazing buddy Luke "the next big thing" Strnadica playing, I am most looking forward to seeing Banfield get a run.

I think Strnadica will play Peel ressies all season

Tucker for Doig medal 2018
It is an interesting situation for him. A couple of ruck prospects joining including one who is mature is going to be difficult to fit everyone in. And with Apeness, Taberner and Dixon having stronger forward credentials, he would be lucky to get an opportunity.
